"Perfect"
It felt less like an audiobook and more like sitting across the table from my friends as they told me about their day.
I liked that both characters were flawed, that even though they started out with nefarious intent, and went about gaining their own ends in the wrong way, they ended up accepting that their nemesis wasn't their enemy and working through their issues on their own.
Tara does an absolutely brilliant job with Echo's sarcasm, and MacLeod's reading of one scene in particular made me have to pull off into a parking lot because I was crying too hard to see the road in front of me.
Highly recommend both the book and the audio version.
"I could listen to Holter Graham read the phone boo"
I can't possibly name a favorite - but it's one of the best.
Infinity, Invincible...same character =)
All of them. He's got beautifully distinct voices for them and I love it.
That one moment between the beginning and the end.
"Couldn't finish it"
Not even a little. Night Pleasures is one of my favorites in the DH series...and I couldn't finish the audio version of it.
Hmm. In this one Kyrian is my favorite, but only because Nick isn't in it as much as I'd like.
Unfortunately, just about anyone else. The accents were too jarring (too sacharine southern for Amanda and Tabitha, I couldn't figure out Kyrian's, and Talon's was just...no.) If I had my greatest wish fulfilled? It would be this one, and Night Embrace to be re-recorded by Holter Graham.
Nope. I couldn't even finish it in several sittings.
"Not bad...but not great."
The story. It's a beautiful story of survival - both on the island and off - and of the lengths people will go to for the ones they love, even it if that means letting go.
Impossible. I love Anna and TJ equally.
I only need two: Too fast.
I'd take 'em both out...just to be super creepy and watch them being happy together.
Heidi did an all right job with the reading, but she needed to seriously slow down. There was little to no pause between description and dialogue and I started getting the feeling I was late for something because she was rushing through telling me the story. It was also really difficult deciphering if we were in TJ's voice or Anna's. I think the audiobook would have benefited from dual readers - one for TJ and one for Anna.
