"good book but beware.."
this is not the second book of the Dexter saga, but the third. So, there are references in this book to the second one that make the third one (for me at least because I have not read the second one yet) kind of disjointed when it's getting started but after a while I got suck in the plot and I did not notice the gaps as much. All in all, a very good story, if you like first (and you read the second one) this one will not disappoint.
"this tale is startind to become boring..."
I bought this book, because i enjoyed the previous 3, now frankly i am starting to get boring. It is like reading the previous 3 books, but with a lot less action. Also, it becoming tedious in developing and i think the author is losing the scope of the story and he is more worried about introducing more characters/races/species so he can continue writing the same tale. I think this is the last one for me.
"Excellent book,"
Another thought-provoking tale from Mr. Morgan. One warning though, this is not your parents or grandparent sci-fi writing. This is not Arthur C. Clark or Robert Heinlein, this is down-to-earth, with lots of graphic sex and foul language book. Also, if you are an easily offended Christian, this may no be your cup of tea. However, if you want a vision (although a grim one) of the near future and find tales where character are a mixture of good and evil with lots of interesting ideas. You, as i did, will enjoy this book.
"Dissapointing!!!!"
Well, I've been waiting for this book for a couple of years (ever since i found out that the author inked a deal for a fourth and fifth book on her Otori series) and all I can say is that this book was a let down. What I liked about the first books was the pace (not too fast or slow) and the characters. In this book the pace is way too slow and the characters stopped being interesting and sometimes just plain boring. I found myself something thinking about fast-forwarding this book a couple of times. Also, the author just takes too long to build up the conflicts and leaves not space for the resolutions. It just seems that the author got caught up writing and then she realized that she had to end this book, the ending just seems too sudden and there are many questions about what happen to some of the characters. I even checked if I this was the abridged version of the book, it feels like a lot of content had been edited out.
"Great Book"
If your are a fan of the cyberpunk genre like me this book is a must to hear. As for the complains about the reader, this book is more of a dramatization than a reading and it uses some sound effects like echos to give it more of a reality feeling. My only complain is that there are a lot of characters to follow, sometimes I had to rewind back a couple of minutes to follow the plot, but other that that a great book.
