I enjoyed this book but don't think it is one of Diana Palmer's best efforts. The characters were likeable and the story engaging but the plot was rather light and somewhat predictable.

I downloaded this book with some trepidation since the author was new to me. I'm glad I took the chance. I truly enjoyed the listen and headed straight back to Audible to look for additons to the series. If you enjoy historic western romance this is a 'must have'. I can't wait for the next in the series and have queued Keli Ann Morgan as an author I'm going follow.

Reginald Mason is wealthy, refined, and, by all accounts, a gentleman. However, he is not a gentleman by birth, a factor that pains him and his father, Bernard Mason, within the Regency society that upholds station over all else. That is, until an opportunity for social advancement arises, namely, Lady Annabelle Ashton.

A great listen! I am a Mary Balogh fan and this book is everything I expect from this author and more. The characters have depth as does the story - so much so I listened to it twice in close succession and enjoyed my second listen every bit as much as the first.

Lady Amanda Locke has struck out miserably in her two Seasons on the marriage mart. Beautiful, titled, and charming - even if she does talk a bit too much - Amanda doesn’t understand why love eludes her. Even her father, the Duke of Norford, is so perplexed he is prepared to take drastic measures to ensure his daughter’s happiness. Now, as Amanda begins her third Season, she gets a little help from Cupid, whose knowledge of basic animal attraction has guided him in arranging more than a few successful matches.

I truly enjoyed this book and was reluctant to put it down, or hit the pause button. I have listened to a number of other books by Johanna Lindsey and although I found this one a little different with a somewhat slower pace I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are a Johanna Linsey fan.

The last person Daria Babcock expects to find in her grandmother’s home is a brawny, naked Highlander. She doesn’t buy Mamie’s explanation about finding the poor man shot in the woods. Nor does she trust the gorgeous laird, who insists his own memory fails him. But Daria came to Scotland looking for adventure and romance, and after the intriguing stranger kidnaps her, she gets her wish - and so much more....

I enjoyed this book both on its own and as a welcome addition to the series. The story is a bit light and predictable in places but this doesn't detract from its overall enjoyment. The heroine has a strong, take charge personality which I appreciate in historical romance and the plot had enough twists, turns and historical interest to keep me engaged to the end.

Especially since the love of her life is back in Texas after eight long years. He won't like the answers to the questions he's asking. About why she left him at the altar. Definitely not Susan Mallery's best. The plot is predictable and Skye's character too shallow to be believable. This, in conjunction with the less than mediocre narration, made the book a struggle to get through. I continued because I'd enjoyed the first in the series and have great hopes for the 3rd.

Enjoyable but better listened to in series order. I've enoyed other books in the Kowalski series hence downloaded and listened to this one when it popped up in new releases. Unfortunately I spent a lot of time at the beginning trying to understand the connection to the earlier books until I realized I had skipped book 3.
