I enjoyed this listen but found it somewhat predictable and light. While I was happy to stay with it to the end I didn't hesitate to hit the pause button from time to time. Jack's character is well developed and engaging which gives the book strength and emotion. Unfortunately development of other main characters, especially Andrea, relied so much on Jack that they weren't all that interesting on their own. Definitely worth the credit and I will listen to the next book in the series with hopes that it will provide the same emotional experience with less predictability and better overall character strength.
A welcome addition to the Parable series, this listen definitely holds its own. Well worth the credit, especially if you are a Linda Lael Miller fan. Jack Garrett does a great job with the narration which adds considerably to the listening experience.
I usually enjoy Bella Andre's books but this one fell far short. Pretty much everything I appreciated about her work is missing in this attempt. It has a weak, almost non-existent story line that moves from one erotic session to the next with limited character or plot development. Although I was tempted a number of times to stop listening I persevered through to the end, hoping it would get better. It didn't.
I can't say enough about this series. I've now read or listened to Outlander and most of the other books three times and and the last time was every bit as enjoyable as the first. This series is complex and engaging with so many dimensions there is always something new to discover.
The title says it all. Not only is it 'pure drivel' it is boring and uninteresting. Even Steve Martin's delivery as narrator can't overcome the fact that the book lacks substance and yes, even humour. There are very few books I give up on part way through but this was one of them. I stayed with it through the first half hoping it would get better but by then I was out of patience and perseverance.
I am a fan of Robyn Carr and have enjoyed everyone of her books that I have read or listened to. This book is no exception. It has a great story line and is equally enjoyable on its own or with others in the series.
This book is engaging with good character and plot development and a satisfying, albeit predicatable conclusion. While the predictability didn't bother - it is a romance novel after all - the degree of back and forth repetition and vacillating between the main characters near the end was a bit annoying. They've already been through the 'fidelity/infidelity' and 'love you/love someone else/love you' scenarios a number during the course of the story so reintroducing it again in the final chapters is somewhat offsetting and makes the book drag on a bit too long to no avail.
I didn't think I'd like this book and passed it over a number of times before downloading and am glad I did. Even though I'm a fan of Brenda Novak's the publisher's summary made this book sound too trite to be worth the credit. I finally capitulated and am glad I did. While heath issues are obviously present in the book they don't overpower the ultimate story and connection between Callie and Levi.
A great listen! Wonderful story line with just the right tempo and character development. I loved the way the history and emotion between the two main characters developed and progressed. I've listened to other books in this series and enjoyed them all; this book is every bit as good and then some. Well worth the credit.
I loved this book every bit as much as the others in the series and hated to hit the pause button. It definitely stands on its own but is a welcome part of the series since you also get to catch up with the characters from previous books. Linda Lael Miller seldom fails to deliver and this is no exception. Well worth the credit - hope there is another book or two in the series.
A GREAT listen. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and hated to hit the pause button for any reason. A wonderful story with just the right mix of emotion, fun and romance and an engaging blend between the characters, situation and setting. This was the first book I've read or listened to from this author and I can't wait for more. I have enjoyed Eva Kaminsky's narration in other books and she didn't disappoint with this one.
