Northanger Abbey is the coming-of-age story of Catherine Morland, who is taken to the fashionable resort of Bath with her friends, the Allens. While in Bath, she meets Henry Tilney and his sister Eleanor. The Tilneys invite Catherine to Northanger Abbey, their family estate. Catherine, an avid reader of Gothic novels, soon becomes obsessed with the thought that possible atrocities are going on at the abbey.

    "Horrible recording"
    Overall

Do not buy this version of Northanger Abbey! The recording is very old and the quality interferes with the enjoyment of the story.

The X-rated monologues coming from next door are keeping Rafe Moore up at night: and all he really wants is some sleep. How's he supposed to decompress from his EMT job when his sultry neighbor and her explicit fantasies have his blood pressure spiking?

Angelia says: "Charming love story with some heat"
    "Great narrator"
    Overall

For me, the very best part of this audiobook was the narrator - she did a fantastic job. The story was solid, but I had a hard time liking the heroine for the first half of the book and I couldn't understand what the hero saw in her at first. She got better over time and it ended well, so I would still recommend this.

Spenser knows something's amiss the moment Dennis Doherty walks into his office. The guy's aggressive yet wary, in the way men frightened for their marriages always are. So when Doherty asks Spenser to investigate his wife Jordan's abnormal behavior, Spenser agrees. A job's a job, after all.

    Elaine says: "a good one!"
    "I always love Spenser"
    Overall

This is my first time listening to a Spenser novel, although I've read many. I must say that I enjoy reading them more than listening to them. Perhaps it was the narrator? But I had a hard time getting into the story.

All it takes to be a super-hot lingerie designer is chutzpah and a healthy dose of talent. Right? So why is Bridget Weiss making ends meet selling custom bras and thongs to Chicago's triple-X dancers? And now Adam Hale, her brother's best friend, is in town and thinks she's a stripper, too! Maybe she'll just let him sweat over that mix-up...

    Judy says: "HOT!"
    "Well-written, well-read"
    Overall

This is a very well-written Blaze story - interesting plot, well-motivated characters and steamy scenes! This won't be my last Marie Donovan book. I also LOVE this narrator. This is the second time I've listened to her and she's fantastic.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It is a truth universally acknowledged that anyone looking for a great listen won’t be able to resist Jane Austen’s delightful classic of love and manners in Regency England. Jane Austen's story of Mrs. Bennet's finding husbands for her daughters is told with wit and charm. A must for lovers of good literature. Commuters Library presents Pride and Prejudice read by Kate Reading.

    Victoria says: "loved it."
    "Fantastic!"

I never tire of this story, but this was an especially wonderful reading. The nuances of the narrator really added to my enjoyment.
