"Very good."
Beautifully done but was hoping to find an actual reading of the book. These dramatisations only take you so far into the book.
"A Great read."
Kinzer's books should be must reading for all high school kids so they can understand where the previous leaders of our country went completely wrong. My 14 year old is reading them and going to drive his History teacher crazy.
"They can't get these in here fast enough!"
I love the Parker books and hope they keep pumping these out! Richard Stark's inimitable style in full speed.
"Another great Parker novel!"
I dont know if there are any crappy Parker novels. Stark had this down to a science. Never boring, never drawn out. Just beautifully delivered staccatto story.
"Not bad."
I like Block's stuff. In this case I was very impressed with how I found myself relating to the main character and by the end of the book really rooting for him. The reader was tough though. The Hitman is a New Yorker and the reader delivers the narration in a "stereo-typical italian new yorker" voice. I actually have friends who talk this way and while it's kind of amusing it can also be kind of annoying. It's turned me off of other books. I stuck with this one though and was glad I did.
"The Master at work!"
Morrell does it again.I'm never disappointed by Morrel's books and the reader was very good as well.
"Blew me away."
I had no idea. I thought I did, but I was wrong. Very well written. Well read. I will be listening again.
"LOVED IT!"
I read some negative reviews of this book in comparison to Shibumi but since I had never read Shibumi and was enjoying Winslow's other books I took a chance on it and enjoyed the hell out of this. I did go back and read Trevainian's after it and found I prefered Winslow's book much more. Hope he takes a crack at a sequel.
"Epic!"
Don Winslow knocks it out of the park again. It's a long sweeping story but it grabs you and shakes the emotion out of you.
"Amazing story. Great reader."
Eric Haney tells his story so naturally. It's very infectous. Wish they had some more of Eric haney's books.
