I enjoyed this story. It felt vaguely familiar to me as I started reading it and realized I had seen the movie on Lifetime a couple of years ago but had not read the book. I liked the book better.
I thought the story was silly; however I understand Violet's attempt to prevent embarressment among her family, his family and the ton. But she might have had the ilk to stand up to her twin sister or find a better solution to the problem. I got a little tired of the childish games they played.
This one was excellent. Although it was like saying goodbye to an old friend when Maisie deciced to leave for India. Hope there's another one in work because I'd love to see Maisie marry.
I read this one first and thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the entire series. Not one dull moment.
You can seldom go wrong when reading Sandra Brown. This one held my interest and I loved that she mercilessly killed off a few bad guys that so deserved it.
This story could have been told in 3 or 4 hours. It just dragged on and on until three quarters of the way thru it, a story finally surfaced.
It's hard to tell if it was the narrator or a very bad story as well. The narrator ruined it for me. I couldn't finish it because he sounded like he was reading in slow motion, I tried speeding the delivery up to no avail.
This is one of the good things about the $4.95 sales, I get to read authors that might not strike my fancy at a higher price. This was a "nice" story and it held my interest. The narrator wasn't very good because she maintained the same voice throughout the story for Karen and Ben; it was hard to tell who was talking sometimes.
This is a good one. If you love these Scottish romances, this one can be added to your list of good books to read.
I think this story could have been told in half the time or less. The overall story line wasn't bad but it just went on and on. It took me more than a week to finally finish it. Normally, if I read a "good" book, I listen as often as possible but not so with this one. I'm so glad it's finally over.
I was surprised that this 21 hour epoch held my attention but it certainly did. This author did a great job maintaining a believeable flow of the story. Anne Flosnick helped, too, she is an awesome narrator.
