Bill Engvall's performance in reading this book is what makes it so personable and fun to listen to.
It felt more like you were have a conversation with the man over a few beers.
Anne Hathaway does great voices (although some are laughable but fit with the theme of the book)
The big story differences between the movie and the book
The cowardly lion
Okay, I really enjoyed the humble beginning story. Once Bane becomes a sith, the story becomes very bland and predictable as Bane has no real threatening adversary. Had the end been more like the beginning, I would have continued with the second book, but alas my interest with the under-satisfying origins of the rule of two ends here.
Only got 40 mins into the book before I just couldn't go any further. The story spent so long sucking up to oil with flattering phrases instead of meaningful content that I got sick of it, lost interest, and returned the book.
Can't decide between Arnold, the police chief's son panhandling as a small child, or Arnold making his first million in Real-Estate. Both caught me off guard and found myself sharing these facts with friends.
This book has 3 main phases as Arnold shifted careers with the book focusing equally on all 3, Weight Lifting, Acting, and being a Governor. Each segment in itself was fascinating as Arnold took you behind the scenes explaining worlds unknown to me as a good friend would, with a touch of humor.
The story was written rather blandly, combined with the reader, it felt like it lacked emotion and failed to draw me in after 2 hours. I even skipped to the middle but that was no better.
Empire Origin Story
There is a point in the book where Plagueis is sneak attacked by his enemies and changes the course of the book. I was driving at the time and caught so off guard, I'm glad no one did any sudden stops in front of me or there would have been an accident.
The book feels more like a political thriller as it sets up the stage for the fall of the republic. It tells an engaging back story for Plagueis, Palpatine, and to some extent, Maul and Dooku's fall while filling in the holes left by the prequel movies, achieving the near impossible; making the prequel movies better!
