I love this author! I only discovered her about two months ago and this was my 7th book that I have listened to by her...she has great character development and new and different story lines in each book that unfolds beautiful love stories. I also love how her characters from each book show up again in the other books...all of her stories take place in PA and main characters from other books pop up as side characters in future books. For instance, in this one Johhny D. shows up from Collide and Sadie and Joe show up from Broken. It just seems to weave a storyline through all of the books.
I love Tesla in this book - very sure of herself...I also love Charlie. Very romantic, sexy and honest. And...another great narrator for Megan Hart - wonderful voices.
I recommend this book. Another review said this was a very similar storyline to Tempted...aside from there being 3 people involved in the love story...I don't think anything else was similar...so don't let that deter you from reading it.
I love Samantha Young's writing...it is so real and make you feel as if you are in the story. She really brings the characters alive and makes you feel what they are feeling. This story was no different...I LOVED Nate and Olivia...what a great love story! And Lee Angel does a fantastic job narrating...loved this book!! As well as all of Samantha's other Scotland tales!
While I enjoyed this series and I like the characters...it doesn't grip me...with some novels, I can't take off my headphones...not with this one. I thought I'd listen to the second novel in this series to see if it was different from the first. I think the problem is that there is A LOT of the two main characters just thinking to themselves, or telling each other, how much they want each other and how hot each other is....kinda gets boring. I think I will try Remy so I can see if his point of view is any different, and overall, I liked the book...but it just didn't overwhelm me.
I loved the follow up on Camryn and Andrew's story, however I don't know why they changed narrators...it completely changed the feel of the book for me. I thought Lauren Fortgang did a PHENOMENAL job with The Edge of Never! She had the perfect cadence, timing and tone for both characters...and really brought them to life for me. Switching to these two narrators did not do the book justice and I could not get nearly as wrapped up in the characters as I did with the first book (which I listened to about 4 times!).
So, while I loved hearing the ending to Camryn and Andrew's journey....it just didn't have the same vibrant feel as the first book.
This is a great series and the two narrators really make the books come alive! They tell the stories from several different points of view and definitely brought the characters to life. Wonderful listens!
I LOVED this book!! I loved the story, I loved the characters...Camryn and Andrew...and I loved the narrator...she reflected the feel and tone of Cam and Andrew so perfectly, I really felt like I was watching a movie while I was listening. I laughed out loud at many places, both because of the writing, as well as Lauren bringing it to life.
I also loved how the author switched point of views from Cam to Andrew - great insights into their thoughts.
Such a sweet love story...and I thought it twisted and turned perfectly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read. After finishing it, I immediately listened to it again.
I loved this book...especially after reading Naked...this brought the story of Alex Kennedy full circle. I loved all of these characters (in both Naked and Tempted). I think Megan Hart does a great job of a real story, with real characters and great sex scenes! LOVED both of these books!
And Zoe Winslow is a FABULOUS narrator, really making feel each character with the subtle differences of each character.
Couldn't stop listening...
I LOVED this follow up to Beautiful Disaster! I thought hearing the inner thoughts of Travis pulled the pieces of their love story together...and I thought the author did a great job of telling the same story, yet not being repetitive. Unlike other reviewers, I enjoyed replaying specific scenes (not all of the scenes) but hearing the other side of the story...isn't that what we all want - to know what the other person is thinking?
I really loved the writing as well., specifically the dialogues - between Sheply and Travis, Pigeon and Travis, America and Sheply..I thought the author did a great job of really making it feel like we were there at college with them - just the right amount of cussing and drinking (all things that happen in college) without it being too much. And the narrator was FABULOUS!! Wow...he really brought Travis Maddox to life for me...I felt every emotion that he felt - it is amazing how much difference a narrator can make to an audiobook.
I highly recommend this book, but I would read Beautiful Disaster first.
