Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "Fantastic story and narration."
    Overall

This is the best book I've listened to in a very long time. The narrators help bring the story to life enormously. Entertaining, thought provoking, and inspiring. I won't forget this book for some time.

Would you try another book from Suzanne Collins and/or Carolyn McCormick?

    doubtful

Would you be willing to try another book from Suzanne Collins? Why or why not?

doubtful. Characters are too simplistic. Great idea for a story, but Katniss turning into Joan of Arc with only selfless motives gets old, quickly, particularly at the end of the book.

What aspect of Carolyn McCormick???s performance would you have changed?

    A bit too dramatic

Do you think Catching Fire needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No. Done.

Knitting and life. They're both about beginnings - and endings. That's why it makes sense for Lydia Goetz, owner of A Good Yarn on Seattle's Blossom Street, to offer a class called Knit to Quit. It's for people who want to quit something - or someone! - and start a new phase of their lives.

Marjory says: "The book was what I expected"
    "Nice enough story, terrible reader."
    Overall

I nearly didn't finish the book and wish I had listened to a sample before downloading. The reader used way too much enthusiasm for my taste and several times I wondered if I was listening to a children's book. It really spoiled the story for me.

The yogic healing arts of India - a tradition that dates back at least 5,000 years - postulate that all illness is the result of a disturbance in the prana, or human energy field. On Healing Mantras, Shri Anandi Ma, respected master of the Kundalini Maha Yoga lineage, chants three mantras said to reestablish balance specifically on the level of the prana.

    Wendy says: "Powerful meditation tool"
    "Incredible"

Listening to these mantras being chanted with such love goes right to the heart. The sounds are sacred and soothing to the mind and body.

Hugh De Luc, a poor innkeeper, returns home from the First Crusade wearied from battle and disillusioned by carnage. After journeying from the Holy Land back to his own small village, he finds his nightmare is just beginning.

Sheridan Race says: "Spellbound and engaged"
    "A good listen"

I was surprised to be drawn in by this different sort of write for Patterson, but the story had enough twists and turns to keep my attention and enjoyment. I felt there was, however, a bit too much graphic drawn out gory battle scenes for my taste. I enjoyed the narrator very much, seemed perfect for the story.
