Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This is just a great story. It was written well, funny at times with a feel good ending.

What other book might you compare Heir of Novron to and why?

I am not one to compare books. Each one seems very unique to me. Even if its the whole swords wizards and princess plot.

What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Tim Reynolds has a very unique way of doing female voices. I do not think I could have done them better in my head. I mention the female voices because, I read about other reviewers complaining about other narrators and there version of female voices. So I am giving Tim his due. Over all I will be looking out for other books that Tim Narrates.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I guess I was sad to see that the Trilogy ended. When you have a good book you really never want it to end. I do have to say the ended was fantastic. (all bases covered)

    Any additional comments?

This Series is worth your time and money. Do not skip this one.

When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

If you looking for a good start for some zombie action this is a good one.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

This book is kind of stressful. And the ending gave stress a good time.

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Intensity.. like a mix of Scott Brink and James Marsters. The narration of this book made the book. If you want to relax this is not your book. Ray Porter is great.

Could you see Patient Zero being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No it would have to be a TV series. No clue on the stars.

He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

Where does Cold Days rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

James is Harry to me, listening to all the books so far. With the exception of Ghost Story. Its a great book. I guess I have to say that this book has been waylaid from urban fantasy to true fantasy. Its a great book and story, don't get me wrong. As for rankings? With James as the lead its a 5 star for me.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Stupid question.... Harry of course.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The ending. It was a deep twist that's for sure.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    No

    Any additional comments?

    I miss detective Dresden!

Would you listen to The Lies of Locke Lamora again? Why?

Honestly you need to listen one more time. The narrator rocks. But this book is one you need to pay attention too full time. Honestly, I might have chopped it up a little to much.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lies of Locke Lamora?

When the main guy gets interviewed.

What does Michael Page bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices are suburb. This guy has some talent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no... its a hard listen. But worth it.

So if you like a crime fantasy. This is it hands down. or should i say fantasy robbery.

The Coldfire trilogy tells a story of discovery and battle against evil on a planet where a force of nature exists that is capable of reshaping the world in response to psychic stimulus. This terrifying force, much like magic, has the power to prey upon the human mind, drawing forth a person's worst nightmare images or most treasured dreams and indiscriminately giving them life. This is the story of two men. They are absolute enemies who must unite to conquer an evil greater than anything their world has ever known.

FOR REAL you need to pay attention to every word. I would recommend this to a dark friend who had not much too do. You cant miss a few words do to a zone out while driving.

If you’ve listened to books by C. S. Friedman before, how does this one compare?

    I don't remember

What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Bray is great. Nothing to complain about. I would say he is a 4 out of 5.

Did Black Sun Rising inspire you to do anything?

Yes... read a normal fantasy book. I do love my sword, wizard, and king.

    Any additional comments?

The writing style is kind of strange along with the book. Every part of the book seems to show on how dark and wrong it is. It becomes a bore. I understand the authors intent. But it is a tad over done..... Making it dark.Every seen seems to have a description where it explains why every thing will be dark. This is only a skip if you CANT pay attention the whole time. Overalll... its a 3 star.. you can skip this one. But is a Fan-sci book to the extreme.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

It seemed to me this was first written as a historic romance novel ... then changed to a fantasy novel later on. So most of the romance was taken out and some fantasy added... If you like boring, this is it. .... dont get me wrong I like (not love Robin) THIS BOOK is a SKIP. There are other books to put your time too.

What was most disappointing about Robin Hobb’s story?

She has done so much better. I dont like the first person aspect from her. She does not do that well at it. And the whole over done FAT thing gets ridiculous. She is not fit by any means. My pinky and index finger could beat her up.

What didn’t you like about John Keating’s performance?

He is ok. Not the best. Most of the voices sounded the same. You have to pay some real attention to his voice to distinct other characters in the book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I kind of hated the book but I stuck with it for Robin. The only redeeming quality was it sounds like she or somebody she knows, honestly went to West Point or attended some sort of military academy. She did that very well. Needs more action and the book was slow. If you had been to a military school you might relate to this book. She gets that straight... but who the hell wants to relive that?

    Any additional comments?

Look at my reviews... if your true epic fantasy you will agree.

I did not read the print version. But Nick Podehl kicked ass. I hope he has more work in fantasy books in his future.

Kvothe... The whole story is about him.

Which character ??? as performed by Nick Podehl ??? was your favorite?

Kvothe again the whole story is about him.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. Can we not learn to shoot the once killed infected in the head? I think they forgot to finish a infected with a brain shot around 3 or 4 times. for real. So in a scene you knew each time they killed a infected it would reanimate into a zombie... BUT OMG they forgot again. If simple minded writing bugs you do not bother with this book.So many of his scenes were such a cliche I had to stop the book and go do something else. I don't know maybe he intended it to be like that.

Would you ever listen to anything by Z. A. Recht again?

    Hell NO!

Have you listened to any of Oliver Wyman???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The Narrator does a good job for the pile of crap that he was given. I think he captured what the author intended.

Could you see Plague of the Dead being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    GAWD I hope not.

    Any additional comments?

The Author could have done a little more research on how the Army works. He was so MESSED up on that. Generals talking to privates like it was normal and such. What a badword retard.

Yes it was a good story. I kind of felt, Jim was playing Starcraft when he wrote the book. In fact after completing the book I am now playing Starcraft again. (the new one) Killing Vorg left and right oooo i mean Zerg.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Academ's Fury?

Breaking Max out of the tower.

What does Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

For me Kate just gets the job done. She is not my favorite, but I would still listen to a book she narrates.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, In fact I thought there was a little to much romantic mush in this book.

    Any additional comments?

Kind of have a love hate relationship with the magic system that has been developed. Its different and fun but not really explained in detail. The magic system is just kind of figured out as you go along.

Big time Jim Butcher fan. It seems like he was trying to hard to do something different. The magic system was kind of boring. And being at as it was a highlight on the cover it confused me. The story was a 5 star. The character development was a 3 star. Sorry but I never really fell in love with any of the characters. Kate Reading did a awesome job narrating the book. All and all i bought the next book just because Jim does such a awesome ending.
