"continuation"
Don't listen to this unless you've READ the first book NAPOLEAN'S PYRAMIDS (unavailable in Audible)because this is a continuation of that book. It is a good adventure and does give some details of what happened previously but first things first! The other problem I had is that the reader doesn't sound anything like the character.
"Not up to previous standards"
L-O-N-G, often boring handling of an innocent man on death row. No suspense, no surprises, just characters v. the death penalty & its consequences.
"Kid stuff"
I can't imagine that this was written by the same person who wrote Skinny Dip & Tourist Season unless he wrote it when he was 12 years old.
"From interesting story to very gory"
The first half of the novel builds an interesting archaeological mystery but then detours to a bloody mess in every detail, not for the squimish!
It did get me to research Gobeckly-Tepe & Catal Huyuk.
"Steve Berry's Worst!"
Waaaay toooooo looong!
Time to retire Cotton Mallone if this is what you get. Bad story line & the author's jumping around from scene to scene right in the middle is sometimes confusing & certainly annoying. Just because the author's recent honeymoon took him to some of these places he didn't have to force a story out of it.
Not much to do with Charlemagne, just a sidebar!
"Mark this one a "no-no""
Bad plot, cliched conversations, totally unbelievable. Even some basic facts are wrong!
"Booo!"
Too long to wait for this. I guess he had a reason for not writing a legal thriller for so long, he didn't have one!
"Tedious"
Way too long!(18 hours). Not that exciting & has nothing to do with Free Masons. THe main character is pathetic, evoking little if any sympathy. The abridged version is probably a little better.
"Better than DaVinci Code"
More action, well read. The final solution might upset more than The DaVinci Code, but it's only a story and a good one at that!
"Good idea, too long"
While the basic idea of the origin of the grail was intriguing, the 2 story lines of different eras took too long to connect. The development of the heros & villins 800 years apart became tedious at times. An abridged version probably would hold more interest.
