Yes, for something like meditation, it's more 'real' when you can listen. Also with this book, which I have, you don't get the guided meditations except on c.d.
I don't know why one reviewer said it was awful, it was fine, and he does show inflection and passion for it. He is NOT monotone.
Listen for yourself, it's a great book for beginners, which I am. Lots of good, easy to understand concepts.
The reader was so bad in the beginning, I almost stopped listening, but I had no other books on my device. The 'Inspector' didn't even show up until chapter 10 (out of 16) but once he was there it got better. Doubt I'll continue the series. Very old-school writing too.
