In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, but with one caveat. I would suggest that (s)he started with the other DarkTower books first, maybe reading this one after Wizard and Glass or after the series is over. However, "The Wind Through the Keyhole" stands alone as a story within a story within a story and "The Skin Man" stands alone as a story within a story. I would advise prospective readers who also plan to read the Dark Tower series to hold on and read it before "Wolves of the Calla". If you don't feel like reading the series, enjoy it on its own.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wind Through the Keyhole?

I thought that the boy's meeting te Covenant man in the deep forest as one of my favorite instances of Palather in the series.

What about Stephen King’s performance did you like?

I thought Stephen King has improved greatly as a reader. I was very concerned when I saw he was the narrator (after I purchased the book), but I went ahead. He does a phenomenal job and no longer uses that maddening monotone that has made hearing his other work a lot less enjoyable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to the book in one sitting (comfortable Bose QC15s :-) .... ).

    Any additional comments?

A great read/listen that all will enjoy.
