In his final hours in the Oval Office, the outgoing President grants a controversial last-minute pardon to Joel Backman, a notorious Washington power broker who has spent the last six years hidden away in a federal prison. What no one knows is that the President issues the pardon only after receiving enormous pressure from the CIA. It seems Backman, in his power broker heyday, may have obtained secrets that compromise the world's most sophisticated satellite surveillance system.

Where does The Broker rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Its excellent. In fact, I've just listened to it again. The character development is wonderful and learning so much more about Italy is great too.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I kept wondering, how was Joel Baakman, going to get out of this situation. The ending was quite a surprise.

What does Michael Beck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Micheal Beck was absolutely wonderful. He brought the story to life. How did he learn to speak Italian that well?

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Suspensful, full of twists.

    Any additional comments?

Don't listen to the readers critic on this one. a few minutes into this book will win you over. One of Grishams best!
