Definately better than the run of the mill Regency Romance! These days it is rare to find a regency romance that still can capture my attention. The market has been flooded over the last year or two, and I like many, have been giving them a wide berth.

So it was a pleasant surprise to find one that could still hold my interest. This was not the usual storyline and had a bit of mystery which unfolded slowly. In addition the narrator did a great job!

Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him. Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever.

Elle Montgomery's life is going one way. And Cole Carson's is going the opposite. There's no reason their paths should ever intersect, even in a small town in central Washington. But summer in the Methow Valley has other plans for Elle and Cole. After an awkward run-in at the local swimming hole, Elle tries to keep away from the guy who looks at her like she's already lying beneath him in bed. She fails. Cole is about as successful at staying away from the girl who seems immune to his charms.

This was an easy enjoyable listen. The narrator was suitable.
Some may feel Elle was a cheater rather than someone who had to find the courage to 'say no' and change her life. If you have never been there - you may find it hard to understand how much courage that takes... but she did find it eventually.
All in all, it was a worthwhile listen - I would classify as a young adult romance.

Romance ? mystery? Having read or listened to several of the Sullivan Series by Bella Andre and enjoyed them, I decided to give this a try ... was I disappointed!

I was unable to finish the book and just skimped the last 10 chapters .. at the end I was not too sure if this was supposed to be romance or mystery ... it ended up being neither since the story was unable to keep my interest and it was only my perseverance that got me past the mid-mark of the story.

Unfortunately the narrator only helped to emphasize the poor storyline and the trite phrases.

I found this enjoyable and an easy listen. Given it was an audio book, the numerous side stories was a bit disconcerting and it took a while to sort out who was who especially as this was the first book that I read in the series. The narrator did a good enough job, not adding nor detracting from the storyline.

As the tension between the two main characters was overshadowed by the numerous side stories some of which tendered to be just a 'repeat' of each other , I would think twice about listening to another book by this author.

out the quirky humor the author intended.

Sebastian Franklin has waited a long time to prove himself as front of the house manager at Cafe Belgie, but his first night in charge while Darryl, his boss, is on vacation is less than a success. The restaurant is robbed at closing time, and the Good Samaritan who foiled the robber comes with his own complications. Robert Fortier is the county’s newest judge, and a reluctant one at that. He is well aware that a public life is not always easy, especially when your personal life makes you the target of a media frenzy.
