"It's time to end this . . ."
I loved Sookie and her friends in the earlier books, but this book was so disappointing. I kept waiting for the story to get going and then realized that there was only 2 hours left. Clearly, Ms. Harris is tired of the character which is not not fair to the readers. I believe the next book will be the last in the series and it should be. As usual Johanna Parker does a marvelous job of narrating.
"What a waste of a credit!"
I don't get the 5 star ratings. I'm sorry, but this was really bad. This was not scary. creepy or even interesting. The characters were weak, unlikable and downright stupid. Who brings a gun to a house full of spirits? What good would that do? There are much better haunted house stories out there.
"Not as good as the first one - boring!"
I loved the first book, but this one is not good. I'm 3/4 into it and I don't care how it ends (not a good sign). I probably will not listen/read to the rest of the series.
"Terrible narration"
The narrator ruined this one for me. I really wanted to like it, but I can't get passed the over dramatic narration. It was like she was reading it to a group of children.
"It was OK"
I thought it would be funnier. I love memoirs but this one didn't do it for me. It wasn't awful, just OK.
"It was . . . OK"
It was not as compelling as others in this genre (Alas, Babylon, The Stand). The only character the author developed was Ish. I found him weak and not very likable. I don't understand why he didn't make better use of the university library and insist on education for the survivors. I found it depressing that in 2 generations mankind would revert to basically cave men.
"Another Molly Harper Hit"
I love Molly Harper's heroines - witty, intelligent and snarky. I can't wait for the next one.
"Long and mostly boring"
Definitely a good vs evil. There were too many characters with little character development. I had trouble keeping them all straight. SK did it so much better in The Stand.
"I love Molly Harper!"
Molly Harper's books are hilarious. Her characters, especially the females, are smart, funny and snarky. I am anxiously awaiting her next book. Amanda Ronconi is the perfect narrator.
"Disappointing"
Interesting premise, but poorly executed. Badly in need of an editor and the dialog was horrible, Skip this one and listen (or read) Alas, Babylon.
