The author hasn't met an adjective she didn't like. Everything is described in detail from the bathroom to every freaking guy she sees. With the same narrator it makes it hard to remember this isn't a Stephanie Plum book. There's the same lusting over multiple guys and describing and thinking about them until I want to scream! By the time I'm ready to run my car into a tree from boredom she finally stops drooling over some guy and we get to some action. But it's not enough to make it worth the price.

A different reader! She sounds like a little old lady and speaks too fast.

I love P&P. I have the BBC series, movie, paperback, and ebook versions. I thought getting a free audio version was great until I tried to listen to it.

I nearly skipped this book because of a bad review. I glad I went for it anyway. This is the best story in the series so far. The narrarator gives Jane a weird, jersey (?) accent instead of Boston but honestly after a couple of hours listening to a real Boston accent my southern ears would start to bleed. I hated to stop listening when I'd Finnish my commute.

Liked best: kept my interest during commute to work. Least liked: the reader. Her normal voice for Jane is fine but the voices for other characters, especially Isles, is horrible.

She pronounces Rizzoli with a strange emphasis on the z. Felt like I was in a Brian & Stewie sketch every time she says it. She pronounces it Rits-zoli instead of Riz-zoli.

Glad they changed everything for the tv show. Jane and her family in the books are awful. Jane is one of those annoying women that has to be better than all the guys then complains about sexism when no one likes or respects her. No one likes her because she's a jerk. She tells a story about going into a freezing lake after her mother tells her not to because her brothers mock her by repeating their mother. She's telling it to once again show how awful her brothers are. I see another example of her being an idiot. They stay on dry WARM land while she's chest deep in freezing water. Idiot.

So far the books are just Rizzoli and some guy gets a crush on. When do they become Rizzoli & Isles?

Dexter seems to be getting dumber with each book. Pretty bad when an idiot out smarts him.

I don't read any other in the serial killer/hero genre.

Jeff is a pretty good writer but brings nothing as the narrator. I miss the guy from the first 2 books. He really complemented the author's writing.

I keep trying Jim Butcher books b/c everyone that likes the same books I like recommend them so highly. But I'm afraid I just don't get it. Jim's books aren't horrible but they're not great either. This type of book is great for audio books since I can listen for the 1 hour commute to & from work then forget about it when I have better things to do.

I have to confess to being an embarrassing fan-girl for James Marsters so that's the real reason I bought Grave Peril. Take that into consideration when I say he did a GREAT job. :) He really brought Harry to life and I loved the voice for Bob. I pretty much had that voice in my head for Bob while reading the first book.

Even though I love James, I found myself drifting off while listening but then he would change the pitch of his voice and capture my attention again. With any other reader I would have given this book 2 or maybe 3 stars but because of James I gave it 4.

This is just a mess. Andre Braugher does a terrible job. He's reading with no presentation or emotion in his voice, just a flat monotone. The other guy (Jay Sanders?) does a really good job as the bad guys though. And this book has Kyle Craig in it. I really hate super-inflated villains like Kyle. I just started the second part and I'm ready for one of them to die. I really don't care which one at the moment just end it. I got this with a free credit so I shouldn't feel so annoyed but the Alex Cross books are the reason I joined Audible in the first place. I'm about ready to give up on James Patterson.

Ugh, I have to agree with another reviewer that Jeff Lindsay is a good writer but an annoying reader. The guy that did the previous books was Dexter to me. The book starts out slowly with 20 minutes of how wonderfullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Dexter's new kid is. It gave me a headache.

I had a hard time getting into the book b/c the reader is really annoying. I was hoping for a book like the Dexter series but this wasn't it.
