While I found some of the character descriptions amusing, there was incredible sadness in this story. Solders, human beings advancing directly into the path of bullets, and certain death was an emotionally taxing read. So much life spent and lost during the carnage of war..

For those of us who seek understanding and entertainment in relation to the epic events of our lifetimes..

This story is well written and thoughtfully crafted. The characters stand out holding mystery, and intention within their structure. It was a ride that I trusted to take me beyond my limits.
The Catalyst and the Prophet. Love declared and love love lost. Such and adventure in time and in spells is well worth the investment of my precious time.

The narration is supple and spins this dream effortlessly.

Royce and Hadrian are two characters that I cared about. I enjoyed the other characters that were introduced along the way. The story wove around and through them in such a way that I was thoroughly engaged from the beginning until the conclusion of the last book.
There was wonderful character development, and impressive story telling evident in each part of the trilogy!
Tim Gerard Reynolds's narration was perfect for this story. It was truly icing on the cake.

This story is entertaining and amusing. The heroes are reluctant however they are credible . The story is realistic in terms of human behavior but it does not employ an overload of violence. This helps to make The Theft of Swords and enjoyable read..
I found the story quite delightful and it was given voice in a way that added even more to the experience. The descriptions of the country side, the overwhelming odds against which are heroes stood, and the irony and humor all come to life in a splendid way in the voice of Tim Gerard Reynolds!

Here is a story of unfathomable courage. We see the brute carnage of war, the ability of the human spirit to become in humane and monstrous and we see evil incarnate.
In response we see a response of survival which stands against the odds of physical and moral destruction. It is a difficult and wonderful story!!

This is an intergenerational saga that does not disappoint. There is rich character development as well as generous historical information about New York.
