Virgil is definitely growing on me although I still prefer Lucas Davenport. I found that I was rewinding alot in the first part of the book because I couldn't keep the names of all the characters sorted out but as the book progressed, it came together. I always enjoy a book that makes me chuckle out loud and that f@*^ing Flowers does just that.
Really enjoyed the book and a long time fan of Michael Connelly. My only problem was that after listening to so many Harry Bosch novels I often forgot that it was Haller's point of view/dialog, not Harry's, that I was listening to. Had to rewind a couple of times to straighten it out. Looking forward to Harry's next case and Haller is growing on me after several novels.
I've enjoyed all the Reacher novels in the past but I'm beginning to tire of the formula Mr. Child repeats for his novels. The plots are different, yet the same. While its fun to have a larger than life character in Jack, it's getting more and more unbelievable with each book. I read some complaints in other reviews about Dick Hill's narration but I disagree, I think he does a good job and embraces Jack Reacher's character.
Don't waste your credit. Most of the reviews I read were spot on. Implausible, predictable, too long. The characters were awful, even Robert L. I was actually relieved when the narrator finally reached the epiloge. I'm not even sure why I finished the book, it was a painful listen at times.
Started out a bit slow but quickly pulls you into the story. Couldn't stop listening and Mr. Archer leaves no loose ends. Loved how he developed all the characters, especially Danny. The reader was very good.
