I loved everything about it. I love this whole series so far. I'm on book 9 now. I'm only bummed that there is not an audible book 10. Everyone must read that book, and then pick up listening on book 11, and with a new narrator. I havent gotten that far yet, but I hope I like the new one.
All i can say is WOW!!! I'm still listening to it, but i am so captivated!!! This is not read like your average book, or like most Bibles read. The sound effects, multiple voices really draw you in. Not to mention the voices are very nice sounding. I like it so much i want to purchase two boxed sets here soon. One for my mom, and one for my church.
I started listening to this book about a year ago and then stopped, now I'm trying to give it a go a second time, but the thing is, I can hear him reading the book, but just faintly I can hear someone else in the background. I dont know if he was in a room where another person was recording a different book or what??? Even though its very low compared to the narrator, its VERY distracting to me. I also dont care for the narrators voice. Theres no emotion to it and its just not pleasing to my ears. I want to listen to it so bad but find my mind either straining to pay attention to his words that just blend in together due to the way he is reading it, and straining to block out that other person reading or talking or whatever. I think I'm gonna download a different one and see how it goes.
Yes, but I would listen to all the books again.
Well I only listen while driving to and from work. I definitely find myself driving slower so I can hear more.
I still love this series. no matter the changes, after all, Anita Blake can't do the same stuff over and over for 20+ books and people not get bored. So what the author changed some things. I'm going to be sad when I finish the series. I've already been listening for a whole year. So i'm going to miss Anita and crew.
I dont remember anything about it, due to the narrator being such the wrong person for anita blake. Its like one of those bad memories from a persons past when they block it out. The narrator sounds like an old woman! Anitas what? 26?
To have one of the regular narrators read it. I almost bought the kindle version and was gonna read it part way through. But gritted my teeth and finished it.
I'm sure in a different series she would be fine.
I like it. Sure there's sex in it. So what? Anita's changing so must the story. She's still working and solving crime, raising the dead. The sex doesn't bother me, I've read alot more graphic than this. Good listen! I'm used to the new narrator now. I am pretty scared about the narrator in the next book though. =/
Well I had to narrate book 10 in my own voice, but it was still a little weird with the new narrator. By book 12 I'm used to her though. I like the book. I dont see why everyone is saying the series is going down hill. I mean, the author is keeping it interesting. If all the books were the same we would get bored with them. As Anita changes and gains powers, the author has to make changes to go along with it. So what she's adding sex to the books. Who cares. Good listen.
Her voice is a little to dreamy for the Anita character
So far all the books have been great. Im actually a romance reader and thought thats what these were, but they are not. But Im hooked. Love them!
