I love this narrator. Everything he does is amazing. Every character is unique, consistent, and interesting. The book is fun but the narrator is superb.

Not this kind of book.

Just because you wrote it rarely means you should narrate it. Narration is an art and you need acting training on how to use language and embody character. The author needs more of this kind of training or should give the job to a professional. Don't try to save money on something so important to the success of an audiobook.

Now, I'm curious about how this book came to my attention and the digital marketing strategies that went into it. So, the one aspect that the book did well - marketing.

This one makes me want my book credit back.

... like a unique plot? You've heard the story - some plague/blood disease wipes out most of humanity, the remaining survivors struggle to survive, etc... But the disturbing part is that people don't generally help one another in this tale. He paints a portrait of humanity that is a little like that in McCarthy's "The Road", only there's no dying Earth. Wild life abounds, crops grow, so why all the fighting and hostility? Heller never really addresses this question. And why does the dog have to eat human flesh?? Many questions unanswered. There is some good writing but it is crowded out by all the gaps in logic.

Then the narrator who seems to be taking unnecessary pauses in the middle of sentences, in the middle of thoughts. Why? More unanswered questions.

Bernadette Dunne is amazing and captures all the characters, plot twists, and imagery perfectly. A great listen!

Body parts heave and breath hitches - in pretty much every sex scene. It is as though the author had a build-a-sex-scene app and used the same phrase over and over and over again. Perhaps it is meant to be a send up of the whole romance genre. The reading and style of the narration don't seem to suggest this. I don't believe I'll continue with the series.

Great story, amazing narration, hysterically funny, and heart breakingly true about the meat industry. I will listen to it again someday.

This didn't work for me. I like Connie Willis, I love the narrator, but this story just didn't grab me. I didn't care enough about the characters and their struggles in WWII as time travelers.

This is everything and audio book should be. First, it is a brilliantly written book. Second, Will Patton's narration, from pacing to characterization. Third, get it, you won't regret it.

What a delight of wonderful story, brilliant language, amazing narration. Not a wasted word or an unfilled moment of narration. When it all comes together like this I kinda want to weep for joy. Thank you!

Great narrator, but the book itself is another story.
The author doesn't seem to have the same skills as a good mystery writer. Instead, we get religious fiction that with the plot twists of a shopping list. Plenty of red herrings, two dimensional villians, sloppy ending.
