I was really interested in this book - and I think I may purchase it in print form instead. I listen to a lot of audio books and I have a very high tolerance for poor readers but this one was impossible for me to listen to. I struggled through half of it and had to move on to something else. Very disappointing!

At their first meeting, a remarkable bond was sparked between His Holiness the Dalai Lama, one of the world's most revered spiritual leaders, and the psychologist Paul Ekman, whose groundbreaking work helped to define the science of emotions. Now these two luminaries share their thinking about science and spirituality, the bonds between East and West, and the nature and quality of our emotional lives.

It was sometimes confusing to tell who's thoughts were being portrayed because there was a third voice that chimmed in from time to time but if you are interested in human emotions this is an incredible opportunity to get some very valuable knowledge.

If you could sum up The Shadow Effect in three words, what would they be?

    I loved it!

    Any additional comments?

I really found Deepac Chopra fascinating and have since listened to more of his books. Debbie Ford offered some really valuable insights also. Although I know that Marianne Williamson is very popular - for me she was the least interesting but I am not a Christian so it doesn't resonate with me.

The publication of Power vs. Force by Sir David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., reveals to the general public secret information heretofore only shared by the author with certain Nobelists and world leaders. Analyzing the basic nature of human thought and consciousness itself, the author makes available to everyone the key to penetrating the last barrier to the advancement of civilization and science and resolving the most crucial of all human dilemmas.

Would you consider the audio edition of Power vs. Force to be better than the print version?

For me it is much easier to listen to this type of information as though at a lecture than trying to read it.

Have you listened to any of Dr. David R. Hawkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

    Any additional comments?

This has to be a topic you are interested in for it to be enjoyable and keep your attention. For me - it was quite fascinating and the tone of the author's voice and reading pace was not relevant.
