I am one of Lee Child's greatest fans but this so-called 'book', that wasn't much more than one hour long was a great disappointment. Could Lee Child be losing it - or just cashing in on is fame and success?
Lee Child doesn't have a bigger fan than me. But this is a little disappointing - for two reasons. Firstly, he's spending way too much time explaining in minute detail how Reacher mangles bad toughguys and how he creeps through corridoors. And secondly - what was the Producer/Director thinking!?! Some of the characters' voices (brilliantly read by Jeff Harding) are inaudible (travelling in a car or where there's anything other than pristine silence). Didn't anyone look at the VU meters in the studio! This is a 'Childish' mistake - for which the Producer/Director must take responsibility.
Wow! This story and the fabulous characters provide some insights we can only hope are purely fictious - yet the gnawing knot in our gut tells us that this is how the law can be used or abused - to dispense or deny justice. Absolute edge-of-the-seat stuff! Magnificently narrated (I'm tempted to say 'acted').
I've just discovered this author. And I'm so glad I have. I can't wait to discover more of his books. The narration by Rich Orlow is absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended listening.
Another terrific story with plenty of surprising twists and turns.
Brilliantly written. Superbly narrated (performed) by Michael Connohie.
This may stretch your imagination. It certainly stretched credibility - to breaking point.
The book is at least twice as long as it ought to be.
Nothing had happened after an hour and a half so I gave up. Dont bother with this. I think Ms Cornwell is just trading off her reputation from years ago.
This is appalling gay drivel. I put up with this pap for an hour and couldn't stand another minute. It's so awfully, awkward, painfully, pathetically, theatrically GAY!
Shame on Audible for not making that clear in their description of the 'book'.
I think gay's will like this even less. Every gay man doesn't fancy every man he ever meets and assumes they all want him. Yuk!
I'll be asking Audible for a refund.
Connelly has excelled himself with this stunning, suspense murder mystery with more twists & turns than the track to Everest's summit.
Dick Hill's narration is flawless. It's almost like a 'production' with a full cast, rather than a narration. Start listening now!
I recently read Sydney Bauer's 'Undertow' which is one of the best books I've read this year. I immediately went looking for other books by this sensational author (I'd never heard of). I listened to two hours of this meaninglyless drivel and gave it away. I felt insulted that an authour could waste a reader's/listener's time with such meaninless nonsense.
