Dan says: "It's my favorite of the series"
    "amazing narration"
    Overall

The five stars could have been for the narration alone. Overall a great story not the best one in the series but well worth a read/listen.

    00doc says: "Interesting and useful."
    "Let down"
    Overall

This book was a poorly written version of 59 seconds. Every item they discuss was based on that book, they add in an attempt at "clever" comments that fail every time. If you want the exact same information only presented better and with the actual experimenters names and better explanations I suggest Richard Wiseman's 59 seconds.

    Story
    (48)

An unmanned satellite returns to earth mysteriously and lethally contaminated. Four scientists work against the threat of a worldwide epidemic. As they slowly begin to unravel the puzzle of the Andromeda Strain, their search for a bio-medical answer becomes a split-second race against time.

Mr. Burke says: "Why Bother, it's abridged."
    "Great story, decent narrative"
    Overall

This is the abridged version of the story and it moves at a much faster pace because of it. There is little time for any sort of character development and as a result the characters are of little to no interest. The plot however is well thought out and very entertaining.

  • Sh-t My Dad Says

    • UNABRIDGED (3 hrs and 9 mins)
    • By Justin Halpern
    • Narrated By Sean Schemmel
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready
    Overall
    (2036)
    Performance

    Story
    (1092)

After being dumped by his longtime girlfriend, 28-year-old Justin Halpern found himself living at home with his 73-year-old dad. Sam Halpern, who is “like Socrates, but angrier, and with worse hair,” has never minced words, and when Justin moved back home, he began to record all the ridiculous things his dad said to him.

Michael says: "Really Funny! Should Be Up for an Audie Award"
    "Nice story, horrible narrative"
    Overall

I enjoyed the witticisms of Justin Halpern's father, and overall it is a nice story. The narrator decided to use voices for each character which is alright at first to distinguish when the father and son are talking but then goes too far. He starts using voices for children and later a female character and is just ridiculous and it becomes just disruptive to the story.
