Lucy Rivers should not be a narrator. She is one of the worst I have ever heard. At times, it was hard to follow the story because of the way it was read. She should not be in the business of narrating audio books.
I like erotica, but this book was missing it. It ended up being a menage, with very, very little M/M. It missed it completely.
The storyline was good, but so much was missing that it ended up being somewhat dull. I won't be buying the other books in the series, especially since they are narrated by Lucy Rivers
This was one of the best books ever. I cried so much for the lose of Selena, and again when Tres talked with her at the door to the Fade, but in the end I understood why she had to die. What I didn't understand was what was going on with Rhage throughout the book. He seemed so much like a whimp, which we all know he is not. Didn't I read somewhere that the next book is about Rhage and Mary. Hope so because something is going on with that male and I want to know what it is. Ms Ward, as usual, wonderful book!😂 When do we get a book about Zadist and Bella?
The story was good, but the narrator almost ruined it. On and off throughout the story, she tries to give the main male character from Denver, a New York accent. She made the female character in her late 20's early 30's sound almost like a young Valley girl. Too much enunciation during the sex scenes making them almost annoying and definitely not sexy. This narrator should not do erotic books. The author is good and I love the series, but I won't buy anymore books with this narrator.
Christian Grey - He's so HOT!!!
Not sure - but Becca Battoe definitely did a disservice to this book/series.
If it weren't for the narrator, yes.
This is a good romance with a lot of good sex. Problem is, the narrator does nothing for the read. After reading all 3 books, I wanted the audio to listen to in the car. Books were fantastic, but the audio is terrible. Becca Battoe makes the characters dull and dim witted. Ana is not a "Valley Girl", but that is how she is protrayed. The voice she uses for Christian is absolutely terrible. He's young, hot and sexy - she makes him sound like some older man who wouldn't cause a woman to turn for a second look. Random House needs to redo this book with another narrator who can bring the characters to life, not put the listener to sleep!!!
Great! Great! Great
How Christian grows emotionally.
This is a very good trilogy, but Becca Battoe is not the narrator for this series. Although Ana is young and, in the beginning, very innocent, she grows into a blossoming woman in a matter of months. The narrator does not bring this into her reading. Becca Battoe's reading is on the level of a 3rd grader and it was difficult to enjoy. There's very little emotion in her voice and it's pretty dull. This is an erotic series and the sensual scenes should make you feel what Ana is feeling, but it doesn't. It's like reading any other book. No imagination in the reader's voice. It's pretty dull - and Christian's voice - don't get me started on that. Becca Battoe leaves a lot to be desired in the reading of this series.
