Iran in 1576 is a place of peace, wealth, and dazzling beauty. But when the Shah dies without having named an heir, the court is thrown into tumult. Princess Pari, the Shah's daughter and closest adviser, knows more about the inner workings of the state than almost anyone, but the princess's maneuvers to instill order after her father's sudden death incite resentment and dissent. Pari and her trusted servant, a eunuch able to navigate the harem as well as the world beyond the palace walls, are in possession of an incredible tapestry....

Where does Equal of the Sun rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up near the top. I loved the story and leaning about the culture and politics of Iranian court in the early 1700.

What did you like best about this story?

The vivid description of the surroundings, people and situations which allowed me to almost be there in my mind as I listened to the story. Learning about the culture.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

His nice steady voice which made it a pleasure to listen to

If you could rename Equal of the Sun, what would you call it?

    Not sure

In this truly inspirational audio book, Anita Moorjani relates how, after fighting cancer for almost four years, her body began shutting down - overwhelmed by the malignant cells spreading throughout her system. As her organs failed, she entered into an extraordinary near-death experience (NDE) where she realized her inherent worth... and the actual cause of her disease. Upon regaining consciousness, Anita found that her condition had improved so rapidly that she was released from the hospital within weeks - without a trace of cancer in her body!

Would you consider the audio edition of Dying to Be Me to be better than the print version?

I can't say as I only have the audio version but plan on buying the print version to be able to read over and over again what Anita message is to us after she comes back from her NDE.

What other book might you compare Dying to Be Me to and why?

    None I have read

What does Anita Moorjani bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice to her own story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My extreme reaction was peace and understanding. There are many books written on why we are here and how should we live and what happens when we die. But she has it all in a story form most people can identify with.

    Any additional comments?

As a spiritualist minister who helps the sick overcome their illness, the dying cross over and the living deal with losing loved one I have recommended this book to many people who have come back and thanked me as it has brought them comfort and information to deal with their current fears and issues.
