Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America's 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life.

Dave says: "Not a bad choice"
    "4 1/2 stars"
    Overall

The only reason I could not giv this book the entire 5 stars was my disappointment that the former president did not read it himslef. I saw that he read the unabrigded versions but not the full novel. The author was good but more emotion could have been felt from his own words.
Not a huge Bush fan before I read the book but was too curious not to read/listen to his story. It was an amazing heartfelt journey that discussed many behind the scenes that I could have only imaged.
    Def recommend!

Evie hangs her head in sorrow for just a moment when she knows she is truly alone. She feels like she's going to her execution, just as he had said. Then she moves forward again. She hops a fence of fieldstone and crosses a field dotted with Queen Anne's lace. Goose bumps rise on her arms as she passes the cluster of windmills that she's seen in a dream. The scent is sweet in the field though, not the scent of heat, like it had been when it was forced upon her in visions.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brennas because he is so broken without Evie.

What does Emily Woo Zeller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great reader! Love the voices, accents, and inflection changes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Maybe. I am over every books being a movie. I read/listen to books to escape and create a world and characters in my mind. It has been very disappointing to see how a production company changes my vision.

The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times best-selling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of listeners in Divergent and Insurgent.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

As many I was extremely disappointed with the plot, character development, tension, and ending of this book. The first 2 books were fantastic. I like others pre-ordered and read this last book with such high hopes and was very let down.

If you’ve listened to books by Veronica Roth before, how does this one compare?

The first 2 books in this series were well worth the read. Don't waste your time on this one. Just read the summaries...

Have you listened to any of Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Very good narration. I enjoyed both readers and have heard both perform before.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Not this version!

Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on Evie's cheeks as she emerges from the darkness of the ship's interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling her dark peacoat tighter to her body, the wind lifts red tendrils of her hair. She walks slowly to the railing overlooking the water. She catches her first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes her shiver in dread. She finds it difficult to imagine now how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone realizing it.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I greatly enjoy Evie and Brennas interactions. I am over the love triangle and am glad Russel has found someone. Reed was a little whiney during this book. I am still hooked and can not wait to read #5.

Have you listened to any of Emily Woo Zeller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I loved hearing Emily read. I think the character I enjoyed the most was Brennas. Great accent, inflections, and expression in all the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The end was a slow and drawn out but not horrible.

What made the experience of listening to The Fiery Heart the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed the developing relationship between Sydney and Adrian along with thier struggles. I was very disappointed with the character of Zoe. She is extremely annoying.

What three words best describe Emily Shaffer and Alden Ford ’s voice?

I really enjoyed Emily Shaffer. However, Alden Ford was very strange in this performance. I have listened to him in the past from this series and a few others. The STRANGEST thing was his change in accent. The first books Adrian has an accent now he does not. But randomly I could still hear a hint of what he should sound like. It was very strange for me!!

Thanks to Connor, Lev, and Risa—and their high-profile revolt at Happy Jack Harvest Camp—people can no longer turn a blind eye to unwinding. Ridding society of troublesome teens while simultaneously providing much-needed tissues for transplant might be convenient, but its morality has finally been brought into question. However, unwinding has become big business, and there are powerful political and corporate interests that want to see it not only continue, but also expand.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Unwholly?

The ending is such a cliff hanger...Is it weird that I hope Risa and Cam wind (no pun intended) up together?

What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?

The reader was expressive and held my interest. I have enjoyed his work in other books too.

    Any additional comments?

Very good listen but not sure if it truly compares to Unwind but I must say Neal is an amazing author! Keep em' coming Neal...

The reader was pleasant to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time I would have listened to this book in one sitting!! :-)

With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his "child", Pam, are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot - which is much more complicated than she knows.

I love the series and truly believe I could read additional books for the next 20 years. Sookie is fun and spunky and Eric is still HOT! I enjoy the dynamic between Eric and Sookie in the books. Sookie breaks the bond with Eric and it is exciting to see if they stay together or not.
This book became a little dull 3/4 of the way in but redeemed itself in the end. Some of more of the fairy questions are answered however there are still many more unanswered questions. Looking forward to the next book to answer more of Sookie's family history...

I read the Pike series many years ago. I have since re-read and re-listened to the books in this series. I feel this books did a good job of re-engaging you in Sita's life however, it left many unanswered questions from previous books. I am not sure if Thirst #3 and #4 are really necessary after all this time. It might be better to have left Sita die in Thirst #2.

With Valentine out of the way, Clary thought she and Jace could finally be together--but when someone starts murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to destroy the new peace between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, she realizes the past can never be left entirely behind.

Can not believe that it when I heard their would be additions to this trilogy. But OMG Clare did it! She made the 4th book part of the series. I could not stop listening to this book. The theme is exciting and keeps you wanting more. However, I am extremely disappointed in the time it will take to actually get to read the next 2 books. If you want people to follow you and stay interested in the story/characters it will be difficult. The books are way too spaced out.

The series takes place in a world similar to our own but one where vampires, witches, werewolves and shape-shifters live among humans without their knowledge. These supernatural races make up a secret society known as the Night World, which enforces two fundamental laws to prevent discovery: 1) Never allow humans to gain knowledge of the Night World's existence and, 2) Never fall in love with one of them.

I felt like book 8 was a little slow in the series. I did not find that I became as attached to the characters as the previous books.
