This books as fantastic. I would suggest you read this right after the previous book as it does not include any intro or back story before it starts off. It gets right into the actions.
It took me some time to remember what the original plat was since it had been some time since I read the previous book.
The story is good and moves along very quickly. I did find the ending a little odd and abrupt. There will definately be another in this series.
Naration was fantastic and the performers from the previous book returned.
Love the series, would listen to just about anything with Odd Thomas in it.
He is the voice of Odd Thomas. Without him the book would not be the same.
Given Odd Thomas' abilities you think the book would play more towards them. I believe it fell off track in that regards.
I would say its just as good as all the other books in this series. Did not dissapoint.
Jack Reacher books.
Even though this book takes place in the past its nice to see where Mich comes from.
The naration was fantasic as well. I love it when they have the same person narate an entire series.
Although the book starts off with Roland as he is in the Dark Tower Series it moves to when he was a young kid.
If the book had remained with Roland as an older gentleman I would have had to agree that Stephen King as a narrator would have been terrible. HOWEVER, Stephen King does a great job as Roland as a younger man. Do not believe all the bad comments about the narration as its not as bad as they say.
The story was good, but it only has a faint relation to the Dark Tower Series. Its actually a story within a story within a story.
Its still a good listen and I enjoyed considerably.
This book is on par with all the John Cory books.
Scott Brick is the PERFECT John Cory.
I am hoping that this books is not an attempt to satisify because there will be a delay in the next John Cory full book.
At just under two hours, you only get a taste of John and then the book is over.
Book was great. But I believe that OSC must have too many projects on the go. He takes forever to continue any series. Thie book was release to audio a year and a half ago and there has been no indication that book #2 is in the making.
I would wait for book 2 to appear before starting this series.
I would have to say that this book was one of the better joe and Elvis books I have read. I would have to agree with other people on it does seem short. It may only feel that way because it's so good. In fact it's length is about the same as all the other books in this series.
Luke's does a fantastic Elvis Cole. I seems natural and great to listen too. The joe pike is a little strained but still very good. He would be a great person to perform all new books in this series.
Oh yeah, too bad my ride to work only lasts 40 minutes.
It's a must get. It's a shame the author takes so long to create new books in this series.
People are correct, it just ends without warning right in the middle of the action. A complete money grab!
Other than the fact its 1/2 a book, it was still good, so I gave it 4 stars. The 5th books should be free if you purchased the 4th one!
I love it when they use the same narator from one book to another, it keeps character you already you have formed in your head alive.
Although Scott Brick does a fantastic job as usual, he does start off a little monotone. However, he picks it up quickly.
Loved the book, I hope there is another book in the John Corey series.
I really like this style of detective novels. The PI has a smart mouth and guts and know how to back it up.
The plot had some unexpected turns which gave me the impression that the author was trying to stretch the books length more than actually following an outline.
In the end everything was tied up in a nice neat bow.
I will definately be getting the other books in this series.
