I have read Speak about 7 times. Every time, i cry. I can't help but cry. this is a one of a kind book and you wont find anything else like it. It will have you on your feet screaming for there to be justice, and crying when there isn't.
Speak takes place in Syracuse, NY. The main Character is a 14 year old girl named Melinda, who everyone hates. Something had happened over the summer that had made even her best friends turn there backs on here. You don't find out what happened until about half way through the book.
Melinda takes an Art class where on the first day of school everyone has to pick out of a broken globe the topic they will use for the rest of the year. Melinda gets trees. through the book she is trying to make trees.
About half way through the book she stops talking. No one really wants to talk to her anyway. She becomes friends with a girl named Heather form Ohio. I always thought that was funny because Melinda is always saying that the things she does must be an Ohio thing, I'm from Ohio. Heather joins a club of girls who do a bunch of good things. Melinda doesn't join.
If you are wanting to know if you should read this book, the answer is yes.
No, I didn't enjoy this book. I know it all really happened but I just do not find these kinds of stories very good. I mean all this book really does is make white people feel like crap because of what we did like 60 years ago.
No. I found the whole thing very annoying.
No, I found the whole thing very annoying.
A lot. I know one of the paper copies I have of this book is a lot shorter. I would take out the whole long speech at the end and some of the journal entries.
I am totally going to return this once I'm done writing.
Yes! I have listened to this book about four times. It is so good and it makes me very happy.
I can't compare this to anything else I have read because The Future of Us is nothing like anything else.
I have never listened to any of Steven Kaplan or Mary Ellen Craven's other performances.
I laughed so much while reading this. It is so funny.
Graceling is my 2nd favorite book ever, but it is my favorite audiobook.
My favorite character is Bitterblue. She is just so sassy and fun, I love how she calls Katsa crazy.
No, I have never listened to anything by the narrators.
Yes, i couldn't put it down.
Any one reading this has to read the book.
I hated this book. It was very boring.
The main girl never did anything, she would just go around being mad and fat.
I don't have one.
Yes! I love who its just like the bachelor.
I loved the first part, when her name was being called for the selection.
No, I have never listened to anything by her before, but I'm really looking forward to.
I really have no idea.
I love this book and can not wait for the second one to become an audiobook.
