"Debbie Keeps On Going"
I have listened to all of the original Ceder Cove series with great enjoyment. I wasn't sure Debbie could create another series , set in the same location but with new characters, that I could enjoy as much. She has done it! The new start to the series not only stands on its own, but minimally includes characters from the original series. Therefore, I felt I had the best of both worlds. The new characters are just as interesting and warm as the old ones were. I will be looking forward to the next book in the series.
"So Glad Audible is providing Aunt Dimity!"
I had listened to Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity's first story years ago and always remembered how charming it was. So many years had gone by that I decided to listen to the first one again. It was as I remembered. Delightful! I have listened to the second book and it is equally enjoyable. These books are of a certain ilk, that if you don't listen well into the first one and understand the premise, you won't enjoy it or the next one. They are perhaps only for the kind of person who is looking for a charming book with funny moments. an enjoyable light mystery, and little or no violence. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two books and am looking forward to more, Thanks Audible for the new format for coming soon books.
"Disappointed Again"
I have enjoyed several of Elizabeth Lowell's books. Her last one was boring and this one is as bad. The story is barely entertaining. but the narration ruins that. I have over 1,000 books in my audible library and I have yet to listen to one with such lackluster narration. Between the story and the bland narration, I had to force myself to get my credit's worth and finish the book. Elizabeth, what has happened?
"Graet New Series from Audible"
I very much enjoyed this book. The characters are well drawn and the story keeps you interested. Audible , please add more books from the Chesapeake Bay series.
"Dreadful and confusing"
This book is awful. I wasted a credit! The reader has a great Austrailian accent, but the idioms are hard to understand, except in context. The story is a confusing mess. I had to stop listening. With over 700 books in my library, there are many I would listen to again before this torture.
"Nora is back"
A very good book with well drawn characters, a good mystery, and a love story with a charming likeable hero. Very few discriptions of ---broad chests, bulging pecs etc. I know I will listen to this one again.
"A Whole Series About The Relationships Among Women"
So many wonderful things about this series, and this book is as good as all the rest. The series follows a group of people from the same area of Pennsylvania from the civil war through present day. Such love and joy and some sorrow, create memorable stories that stay with you for a long time. They are in my library to listen to again. The same narrator reads all the books, and she is terrific.
