"Only thought it was new"
Well, basically it is a Stephanie Plum novel with new window dressing. Lizzie=Stef, Clara=Connie, Glo=Lula, Diesel= Ranger. Even the Porshe Cheyenne is the same! Come on Janet, can't you come up with something different? Yes, there were quite a few hilarous moments and man, I wanted some cupcakes the entire time I listened to the book!!
"Quite suspenseful"
I really enjoyed this book. I always enjoy Bosch but liked the combo of him with his brother.
"Misled by "Alex Cross""
Although I read the little description of the story line, I was still expecting Alex Cross to be in it somewhere. This book has absolutely nothing to do with the Alex Cross stories. The only connection is his great, great grandfather or something whose name happens to be Cross. It could have been any other name like Jones or Smith. I am very disappointed in James Patterson for labeling "Alex Cross" on this book just to make sales! I am so mad, I even am going to his website to make a similiar blog. What occurs in the book is from history so it was slightly enjoyable but not nearly as any of his other books.
"newest number"
I enjoyed this book as I have with the other 13 books with Stephanie in them. It is getting alittle redundant but still a good read - well, listen. AND, the thought of Ranger in a tux...umm, delicious!
"Worth while listen"
I really liked this book; though, I predicted the ending. That is okay.
"Wasted credit!!"
I didn't even finish the book it was so bad!!
"Ran too long"
I liked the underlining storyline; but, I found the going back and forth from the present to the past was alittle confusing and boring. I found both sets of characters quite entertaining. I felt for them. I could predict how the book was going to end.
"Disappointing Sherlock Holmes"
I always liked the stories of Holmes;but, I found this one lacking. The last 1/3rd of the book was great. The first 2/3rds wasted a lot of time going over what people wore, what Justice Hall looked liked, etc, etc. I don't need to know what kind of marble the atrium was made of and Russell not having proper attire for the country, etc. I know with an unabridged book, I should expect some lengthy yada-yada;but, this was alittle much.
"Yeh, a new author for me"
I finlly found another author that I liked as much as Janet Evanovich. I love these characters!! I went back to the beginning and just finished Dead Ringer. If you are looking for a quirty story, you will love Lady Killer and the Philly talk.
"19 minute review"
I am still haunted by this book. It made me take a strong look at how kids treat each other. I have 2 little kids and am terrified that they will not be in the "popular" crowd or if they will be bullied or bully someone else. The girl's telling of those final 19 minutes accounts were quite surprising to say the least. Even though this book was fiction; it contained some true factors. Kids are cruel; even starting in kindergarten through high school. I listened to it right after the Va State shootings and thought the maybe that student might have thought similiar things as Peter did. I felt for Peter at times for the level of cruelty that he suffered. I thought that author wrote a great book and I will remember it for quite a long time!
