Dyer appears to believe there weren't enough words in the Tao Te Ching. He rambles on for hours telling us how we should lead our lives. Like many westerners trying to teach eastern philosophies he dumps his enthusiasm on the listener without the subtlety and effectiveness of an good teacher. True insight is not bought by the pound.
Probably not, unless they were both a detective story and king fan. There are a great many detective books of equal quality available.
I question if this book would find a publisher if it were written by an unknown author. The characters are particularly comeling or real, and the plot hold few surprises. Portraying African Americans as either gang banger or Barack Obama has become cliche.
