"Religion at its worst"
If you want evidence of religious fanaticism, well you have found it.
There is nothing likeable to be found here. Insightful yes. There are reports , to say
the least, that are extremely heart-wrenching and disgusting at the same time.
Religion has held us back for well over a thousand years with its inhuman treatment
in the name of God. It is all about power and indoctrination.
Read and beware.
Just how effective indoctrinated blind faith can become at its extremes.
Both
All of it was very 'moving'.
"Informative, thoughtful, eye opening and funny."
You learn what they taught you had many parts left out or rewritten to smooth out
the less favorable aspects.
I thought the facts as presented about Roosevelt, the crash of '29 and his struggle to
guide the country through it were somewhat harsh in presentation.
That being said, this book remains a most fascinating listen.
"But for a very poor recording."
What a shame this can not be recorded again. Poor audio ruined it for me.
"Stephen being Stephen"
Interesting? Look I can't recall any soul resonating points. There was no 'least' interesting.
Some was less so.
As always I like Steve's voice. As usual though I began to dislike his voice somewhat.
It was unless you wanted that Colbert Bump kind of feeling. It fell just short.
Steve, Know I will always be virtually your best fan.
"The pernicious motive of indoctrinated religion"
Insightful as to how opportunistic agents work in the background to alter the belief
structure of the vulnerable in a society.
"A look into otherwise hidden lives"
It is profound in the realization of the sameness of everyday life.
I can't compare it to other books. It stands alone.
All of it.
Perhaps not but I essentially did.
Nice writing style. Complex in concept but very insightful. I recommend it.
"Clever and insightful"
Great listen.
The moment he informed the CIA fellows what might happen to them if they persisted in tailing him. I like his straight forward style.
"Very informative most entertaining"
Modern Scholar is among my favorites for history, science and technology lectures.
The authors time line description of the chronological order in terms of one year. It gave me a sense of how much time elapsed between first life and first complex life.
The authors narration is wonderfully inspiring. Plenty of explanations of terms and theory
that are very understandable.
I did in fact listen to it in one sitting.
""well documented" ?"
I would recommend with qualifications.
I dare not characterize what I think Mr,. Horner could do to make this more enjoyable for me!
It will be the scene of the author eating crow in the sequel.
Yes if the title was The Politically Inexact Guide to .......
Really, no movie should ever be made of this unless for
use in a school for sociopathic development.
It's an effort at sarcasm with a conservative bent.
