Dan Savage has always had a loyal audience, thanks to his syndicated sex-advice column Savage Love but since the incredible global success of his It Gets Better project, his profile has skyrocketed. Savage is recognized as someone whose opinions about our culture, politics, and society should not only be listened to but taken seriously. Now, in American Savage, he writes on topics ranging from marriage, parenting, and the gay agenda to the Catholic Church, sex education, and the obesity epidemic.

Where does American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition (A Full Cast Production) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank American Gods in a definite top ten list.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Laura, Shadow's undead wife, is perhaps my favorite character for more reasons than I can name. She's so fallible and human.

    Any additional comments?

This is a book that I read through in two sittings. I have listened to the audio version probably three times. The satire is absolutely breathtaking. It is ironic and funny in so many ways. This is a great american novel. I have no doubt.

When Autobiography of a Yogi first appeared in 1946, it was acclaimed as a landmark work in its field. The New York Times hailed it as "a rare account". Newsweek pronounced it "fascinating". The San Francisco Chronicle declared, "Yogananda presents a convincing case for yoga, and those who 'came to scoff' may remain 'to pray." Today it is still one of the most widely read and respected books ever published on the wisdom of the East.

D says: "Spiritually Uplifting -- and entertaining!"
    "Fantastic and imaginative."

If you could sum up Autobiography of a Yogi in three words, what would they be?

This book is a illustrates a complex relationship between one's soul and one's expectations where there are no limits. Yogananda is as faithful an individual as one could meet. Ben Kingsley brings a colonial tone that is priceless.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

There are no surprises here. Life is for the living and is wonderful.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There is a palace of dreams that is flesh and blood and more.
