During an intimate dinner party, a cat burglar breaks into the home of A-list actor Marcus Dowling. When his wife walks in on the thief, the situation quickly teeters out of control, leaving an empty safe and a lifeless body.

"What is the deal with a single narrator??"
    Overall

The 9th Judgment was usual James Patterson (& Maxine Paetro) with interesting plot twists, characters, etc. but I am getting increasingly annoyed by the single narrator attempting to voice all the different characters. We pay enough for these ... can the audiobook companies not afford at least one male and one female narrator?? I just finished House Rules before this one and was swept away into another world by the different narrators in the repertory company. Under the Dome was an excruciating 36 hours with one narrator for dozens of characters ... the childrens voices are especially icky.

When John Sutter's aristocratic wife killed her mafia don lover, John left America and set out in his sailboat on a three-year journey around the world, eventually settling in London. Now, 10 years later, he has come home to the Gold Coast, that stretch of land on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America, to attend the imminent funeral of an old family servant.

James B says: "Brilliant Conclusion to Gold Coast"
"Disappointed and I'm a diehard DeMille fan"

I trudged through the first section of the unabridged version and thought that was the end. Continued to trudge through to the end because I just couldn't believe it was really this boring. The abridged would have been a better choice. I've read everything DeMille has written but this was a good idea overblown. I just wish Anthony had made his move 18 hours earlier! I was ready to help him out!
