The book reads like a scientific report--some of the info. and studies could be interesting, but the reader did not rehearse, so the flow of the material
is halting and boring.
Come on Jean Auel--really! For those of us who have following Ayla for 20+ years, this is a letdown. The story languished . I understand that the caves are really cool. but there was no plot--the story was more of a documentary. I've waited years to learn about Durk...what is happening with the Clan--is that in the next book???
Why mention the scar and an attack, but then not give any details--shall we just make up our own story? What's the secret? Seems she draws draw more to it by the secrecy. Loved the part about Tina's father--could so relate.
I especially liked the "old" Jacob reader. Very well told story--heartwarming tale of the enduring human (and animal) spirit. Don't hesitate to get this one.
Good conflict, characters and the reader is superb. I definitely recommend this book--love Mickie Haller.
