The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

This is such a great tale. Well read. Fun to listen to.
Hated to see it end. I read it years ago and it actually is funnier when you hear it read out loud. Well, by Martin Jarvis anyway.

Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

I decided to revisit the original story before seeing the movie. Didn't have time to read it so I got the Audio version for my commute. Great fun! I haven't read it since I was 14 so it was great to see it holds up even for the jaded adult.
My grandson has my old Kindle so I loaded it on to his Kindle (he is 9) for him to listen. He loved it and has listened to it over playing games or watching videos.
    Great fun story beautifully told!
I recommend this version over the dramatic readings that have been abridged.

Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Read this book a while ago but decided to listen to it on Audio. Brilliant. It is wonderful to hear Fat Charlie and Spider and the rest of the characters come to life with such flare! Can't recommend it enough! Love Neil Gaiman's work and Lenny Henry brought a special gift to the reading of the book.

Noble Heart literally saved my life and sanity years ago when I had to have back surgery for a crippling condition. I had been involved in yoga and meditation practices for years when I found myself debilitated for several months. I listened to this series over and over again and it changed my outlook on where I was and what I was going through. I was happy to be able to get it in a digital format recently during a very stressful time. Broken into chapters that give teachings and meditations it is easy to listen to and digest in bite size pieces. It was recorded during a retreat and gives the ambiance and feeling of being on that retreat. Pema Chodron is a wonderful teacher and meditation guide.
