I enjoyed the 1st two books in the trilogy but this latest installment was disappointing. All of the likeable and charming characters from the first two books are missing from the last of this trilogy. We are left with a fairly unlikeable hero whose redemption is rather unbelievable yet predictable. The heroine, a pathetic Marilyn Monroe wannabe never inspires interest or admiration. The ghost subplot was grating and predictable and Alex's resurrection from death ridiculous. But the worst thing about this audio book was the performance. When simply narrating, Jeff Cummings was pretty good. But he is no voice actor. His female characters were painfully bad and his male characters almost as terrible. I had to force myself to listen to the whole book.
This is Christian fiction. This is not just a mystery/romance. If you're not into devotional and Christian proseletizing don't buy. I am not and as soon as the FBI agent/hero started talking to Jesus I deleted it. If you like that kind of literature you would probably love this.
As I said in the body of my review, this is Christian fiction mis-described as mystery and romance.
It was o.k. though not great.
I want my money back.
