Although the exciting military career she hoped for never got off the ground, Ky Vatta ended up seeing plenty of combat when she took the helm of one of the commercial transport vessels in her family's fleet...and steered it into a full-blown war. Now the lessons she learned in that trial by fire are about to pay off---because this time, the war has come to her. Someone has launched a full-throttle offensive against Vatta Transport Ltd., Ky's father's interstellar shipping empire.

WHY would they hire a reader liike this and why would the Author allow It? I would buy every book in this series if it wasn't for the reader!!! So Dissapointed! The original reader, Christina Moore was great. Get her back and re-record these books and I will be the first in line to buy the series!

I liked the first book, even though the story had giant holes in it and it was light on details to make the story work. It was entertaining and I liked the characters. The story was a little silly. A highschool kid, being chased by the law is grabbed and made the leadrer of the world against evil space aliens. Yeah, that could happen. His powers were fun though.

This book continues with the evil aliens killing humans that had surrendered just because they did not like us and planning to annihilate Earth. They like to wipe out planets and kill everybody. It is part of thier culture. So with our fearless leader leading we beat the aliens with fanciful technology we got from other aliens they had killed.
Rather than destroy these evil guys we sit down to talk. Our fearless young hero's wife convinces the evil leader of the aliens that he was wrong and hated humans for no reason. He sees the error of his ways, So the wife Says" the aliens are our friends now so lets give them our technology!"

At this point I would have thrown a physical book across the room, but I really did not want to break my new Iphone.

I like Sci Fi and I have read Bad sci Fi before, but this should be in the childrens fairytale
"If we just talk to the evil people who want to kill us for fun, they will like us and we can all be friends " section. I am sorry I wasted credits on this series. Buyer beware!

But a compelling story. I cant tell you why I kept reading, it was gross and revolting but facinating. Read at your own risk! A Horror story with Giant radioactive bedbugs, Jihadists, prostitutes, and a vile hotel owner with a live website from cameras that show what goes on in the hotel.

    Only one likable character. Discusting.

Kenneth Chinran commanded the elite unit assigned to take out an entire planet in a terrible war. Millions died; billions more perished in the aftermath. One doesn't send a sociopath on such a mission. A sociopath might not stop. Chinran did stop, but in the process nearly lost his sanity and his soul. But one of Chinran's men was a sociopath going in. Now he's a trained sociopath with the knowledge and firepower to take out entire tactical teams, evaporate through security cordons and change identity at will.

I loved the beginning of this book and wish it had stayed with those characters. The story is sci-fi but that is peripheral because with this story, because it wasn't nessesary for the story to be in space. Two opratives are chasing an assasin, that one of them knows but they never see and they keep missig him and I got bored and quit in the middle of the book. Maybe it gets better. It might. I had better books to read.

The narator was ok, the story was ok. I won't bother to get the rest of the series. Too many holes in the narative, and te characters don't resonate with me. I am a big fan of sci fi books with battles. just not this one.
Three stars is my code for not sorry I read it but won't read it again or look for more books by the author.

Visit Hill House and get the shivers again. "Whatever walks there walks alone!"

This book is set later in time then most of Zane Grey's books. There are automobiles.
My biggest probem with tihis book is the main female characters, both of whom are fooled by men and don't learn from thier mistakes at all. I wish women weren't really that gulable but I know we are often blinded by our own emotional needs ansee what we want to see in men to our eternal sorrow, but one character here takes being a fool to a level of high art.
I don't recommend wasting a credit on this one.

It was fun to read about the food and the journey of a talented chef, in a strange country.
It is a heartwarming book and I recommend it , though it is not my usual cup of tea.

Aida Palmer performs a spirit medium show onstage at Chinatown's illustrious Gris-Gris speakeasy. However, her ability to summon (and expel) the dead is more than just an act. Winter Magnusson is a notorious bootlegger who's more comfortable with guns than ghosts. Unfortunately for him, he's the recent target of a malevolent hex that renders him a magnet for hauntings. After Aida's supernatural assistance is enlisted to banish the ghosts, her spirit-chilled aura heats up as the charming bootlegger casts a different sort of spell on her.

OK, Beautiful girl who doesn't think she's beautiful, though almost every man she meets hits on her, meets gorgeous man with scar who thinks he's ugly. Of course it's lust at first site. She's a medium and he's a bootegger cursed into seeing ghosts fom his past. That is the interesting part of the story. If you've read romances before, you know the romance part of the story. No suprises there. The writing is good, and the story is entertaining.
The sex parts weren't as bad as many I've read. Though I enjoy romance, I don't really like much sex in books, and please skip the thrust by thrust details! Leave it to the imagination. Not too bad, but not one I will read again.
