I love this series, these characters, and can not say enough about this reader! She makes every character come alive.
This series is the very best of J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts work. I hope she keeps writing them.
I will buy every one the first day it is out.

If you like plenty of Raunchy sex, stupid repetitive jokes and constant bad language in normal conversation this is for you. It is NOT for me. The reader is annoying so that did not help. Skip this one. I couldn't finish it.

Aida Palmer performs a spirit medium show onstage at Chinatown's illustrious Gris-Gris speakeasy. However, her ability to summon (and expel) the dead is more than just an act. Winter Magnusson is a notorious bootlegger who's more comfortable with guns than ghosts. Unfortunately for him, he's the recent target of a malevolent hex that renders him a magnet for hauntings. After Aida's supernatural assistance is enlisted to banish the ghosts, her spirit-chilled aura heats up as the charming bootlegger casts a different sort of spell on her.

OK, Beautiful girl who doesn't think she's beautiful, though almost every man she meets hits on her, meets gorgeous man with scar who thinks he's ugly. Of course it's lust at first site. She's a medium and he's a bootegger cursed into seeing ghosts fom his past. That is the interesting part of the story. If you've read romances before, you know the romance part of the story. No suprises there. The writing is good, and the story is entertaining.
The sex parts weren't as bad as many I've read. Though I enjoy romance, I don't really like much sex in books, and please skip the thrust by thrust details! Leave it to the imagination. Not too bad, but not one I will read again.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

I like SciFi, and this is supposed to be a classic, so I kept listening for 10 hours! what a waste! I kept thinking it had to get better. Even the action was boring. Slow story, laid back reader, sleep inducing!
    Why was this a classic???????

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn't know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.

This isn't a genre I normally read, but it transcends any genre. Like other reviewers, I wont tell you what it is about or what happens except that it is a story of a remarkable child and the people around her. I read all 13+ hours without stopping except when absolutely nescessary. This is a special and suprising story with lots of twists. It might give you nightmares, but you won't soon forget it!

This adventure transports Amelia Peabody and her husband Emerson to Amarna, the rustic desert site where the two archaeologists first met, beginning the 13-year association that would take them from mayhem to murder in the Egyptian outback.

This is an excellent series, but I missed Ramses (The Emerson's young but highly entertaining son and my favorite character) on this trip to Egypt, though his letters were my favorite part of the book.
One of the most striking parts of this book is the very unsympathetic portrayal of Emerson. He is verbally abusive, rude to everyone, stuborn, and generally very unlikable. These traits are usual in Emerson, but not to this extent and are usually softened by good deeds and goodheartedness that is not in evidence in this book.
It is very hard to see what Amelia sees in him to love. I would have run screaming in the other direction, regardless of how handsome he was!

I also found unbelievable the successful disguise of the so called "Master Criminal".

Still it is a part of this good series, and this book needs to be read to continue.
On to the next book, and I hope things are back to normal.

The indomitable Amelia Peabody and her husband, known to many as "the Father of Curses", are into archaeology and mischief again. This third in the series brings the reader once more into Egypt and the shady world of black market antiquities. The winter excavation season has hardly yet begun when Amelia stumbles onto what looks suspiciously like a ring of thieves.

Amelia Peabody inherited two things from her father: a considerable fortune and an unbendable will. The first allowed her to indulge in her life's passion. Without the second, the mummy's curse would have made corpses of them all.

This classic series narrated by the incomparable Barbara Rosenblat is great fun.
Lots of humor, lots of great characters, and an indomitable parasol wielding heroine, who can bully and control anyone but her lovable Bull of a husband, and her brilliant rascal of a son. Archaeology in the victorian era in egypt is a background for intrique, mystery and murder, with the Emersons on the trail of the murderer as long as it doen't interfer too much with the completing next great find ahead of the professional thieves and incompetent government officials. I highly recomend it! Enjoy!

I am a fan of Amanda Quick's books even though they are always the same formula. There is usually a good enough story and interesting enough characters to allow me to deal with the formula romance, which is always the same.
This time it did not work for me. The story got a little convoluted and was hard to follow.
I did not hate it but I kept losing focus, missing a chapter or two because my mind wandered, and had to go back. I almost stopped and decided to go to another book.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. The Idea of an alien race needing an hollywood agent to be introduced to earth is creative and funny. Lots of humor including some laugh out loud moments with a wise cracking alien that looks like a jello mound.
Now I am someone who does not think that bad language enhances a story but often detracts from it, so when the 1st sentence of the book included an F-bomb I was worried.
There is some language, but not enough to ruin the book and the main culprit was a very discusting person who was not in the book for long. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The reader did an excellent job.
Good lighthearted read! I recommend it.
