"Change of pace. Original"
This book had me really surprised when I found out the main character was going to be a 14 year old boy. I’m not into the Harry Potter teen main character books. I have to say I was really surprised. I thought it was well written and deserves a listen. Original story with creepy creatures that were easy to visualize. One of the girl main characters had me rolling my eyes a little. At 14 with the supposed knowledge she had she should be out of high school not getting ready to start. Small annoying part to an overall good book. Very new way to come at this theme. Nice job I will listen to another from this author.
"Ok but I've listened to better."
Already listening to Apocalypse of the Dead.
This was an ok zombie novel. I kind of nodded off in a couple of spots. It had its great thriller spots and then started going off in to left field for a moment or two.
I have had quite a few cop friends and you could tell this was written by a police officer. Everyone is out to get the main character or he thought that was the case. Granted during this time of crisis you would only try to trust a select few but to me in an end of times scenerio I would want some one watching my back.
I'm going to listen to Apocalypse of the Dead (the next novel) and give this author another shot. Hopefully he will earn another star or two from me.
"Twisted"
You probably either love or hate this author. I can't get enough. I finished this one in 4 days which in my busy schedule is really good. I couldn't stop listening. Read by the same guy that narrated Afraid, Phil Gigante did an excellent job. I could really visualize all the characters especially Lester. If you are a fan of gore/thriller/action then don't pass this one up. Keep putting them out Jack and I'll keep buying.
"Excellent"
People kept commenting on how this was better than the first book. I disagreed until about a quarter of the way into this one. I was very impressed. It kept my attention the whole time. I'm left wanting the next installment big time. Keep em' coming Mr. Bourne you have earned a long time fan.
"Very Surprised."
I didn't know what to expect with the "journal entry" reading of an audio book but I was very surprised. This was very well read and had me really caring for the characters. If you're a fan of the zombie world this is one you can't pass up. Highly recommend.
"Ehhh."
This one was alright but nothing to write home about. 2.5 stars in my opinion. Was predictable at the same time your thinking lifetime movie network here this one comes. It had some high points and then it had some low points that I had to fast forward through. Only worth a listen if you have nothing else waiting in your wish list.
"Very Good!"
I wasn't impressed with Tooth and Nail but this one was very good. I couldn't stop listening. I hope that there is a follow-up to this book. The creatures needed a little more time in the book to earn my five stars. I can't wait for another one. Keep improving Mr. DiLouie!
"Not this authors best work in my opinion."
Still a good story and I liked the characters but wasn't the best I've listened to from this author. If you got a credit to spend its worth the listen.
"Great new story!"
I loved this book. I didn't mind the author reading his material. This one takes you on quite a ride. I would recommend this one. On a side note if you like his work Earthcore, Nocturnal (if you can get past some of the character voices), and Ancestor are must listens.
"Torn"
I'm torn on this one. The action, suspense, overall story, etc... was great. On the other hand some of the little things really bothered me. The rangers seemed poorly equiped. I would think thermal imaging would be needed along with night vision considering the importance of the mission. The tribesman that followed the rangers really hated them but didn't mind the "bad guys" that were behind them. Seemed like the other team was able to waltz in while the rangers were being taken out. Just a few things that bothered me a little but overall a good listen. Will listen to this author again.
