This is want Jack Campbell fans want! The side stories have not held my interest but with Black Jack back I could not stop listening to it. More More More.....please!
So I have read all six books so far. This is an ok series or I would not have of course :) . For this book here are a few things I took in.
1) Flow. The line of events gets skewed at times and it can get hard to track.
2) Development. The characters lack any kind of real depth.
3) What the? Who the? The book jumps around and then ends in the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers basically forcing you to read the next book.
Overall the voice acting was good and there was enough action to keep me reading. Read it I think you will be glad you did.
This book seemed (to me at least) not to have as much action as Dust World. That is not exactly a bad thing as this book gives a little different view of how the main character feels about the role of earth in the big picture. But I would like to see a little more action in Tech World.
Another great one from B.V Larson. There is a rumor of one more book in the series but this one does close it out nicely. I was not too fond of the "title" Riggs takes at the end but other than that the book flowed well and had good balance.
Also if you have not checked out B.V Larson's new series Steel World it is also a great read.
This series has great potential but it felt like parts of the book were rushed. I felt like another 2 hours of length would of filled in a lot of gaps. I.e their upgrades and such.
B.V Larson does it once again! I can not wait for more of this story. If you like the Star Force series then you will love Steel World.
Main characters disappear or are remanded to small roles. This is also several books smushed down to one. Things are moving along and then suddenly you are 26 years in the future.
There are some good parts but you are left hanging several times and the story line gets twisted.
I love this series and I am looking forward to more of it. However this book seems to get lost in itself and in the end nothing great has been accomplished. It basically ends at the same point it begins with no real new information given about the situation.
Also there are several "Sub plots" like Grey's girlfriend that are annoying.
Really you could swap out Gregory for Grey and you would have the last book all over again.
This book continues with the great battle stories we are used to. The ending leaves you hangin on for more. I cannot wait to read Empire!
