I like to read just about everything. I especially like to get lost in large series, like Robert Jordon's Wheel of Time or Diana Gabaldon's Highlander series. If anyone has suggestions of this type I'd sure like to hear from you.

He was one the best Marine snipers in Vietnam. Today, 20 years later, all Bob Lee Swagger wants is to be left alone. But a shadowy military organization seduces him into one last mission for his country - unaware until too late that the game is rigged. The assassination plot is executed to perfection until Bob Lee Swagger, alleged lone gunman, comes out of the operation alive, the target of a nationwide manhunt, with his only allies a woman he just met and a discredited FBI agent.

This is a really great book! The abridged version was done very nicely. However an unabridged reading would have been better. So many action scenes I enjoyed were not included.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It was hard to put this series down. Bold characters and a very strong story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Duke Vericai - A strong female heroine that has MANY obstacles to overcome and handles them beautifully. Plus she has magery.

What aspect of Angela Dawe’s performance would you have changed?

Ms Dawe's performance was ok, she has a great voice and can bring pictures into my mind which is important. BUT..... She should have listened to the earlier books to get the name pronunciations the same this was difficult for me to switch back into my memory and deciding who she was speaking of.

    Any additional comments?

This series had 3 different readers and that was a MISTAKE. I’m sure there is a reason for this that I don’t know about but Jennifer Van Dyke was my preference.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

If you could sum up The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest in three words, what would they be?

    Kept me spellbound.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest?

Never think Lisbeth out of the game no matter how desperate the situation. I was holding my breath during the final confrontation between Lisbeth and Ronald Niederman, thinking ‘no Lisbeth... think of something... think of something’. And she pulled a rabbit out of the hat, so to speak. Spoiler alert!!! When she nailed Niederman’s feet to the floor, my smile was one of those ‘see all my teeth smiles’. Brilliant! Outstanding! Go Lisbeth!!

What does Simon Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Vance adds depth to the overall experience. I had read the books a couple of years ago, but listening to them, bring the books alive. Thank you Mr. Vance, I shall look forward to hearing from you again!.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I whooped for joy in the last confrantation with Neiderman.
