When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

What didn’t you like about Becca Battoe’s performance?

The narrator sounded like a amateur actress doing a cold read...I was not impressed. It seemed like she did better as the book went on though. I could listen to her though and I would not mind hearing her in something else but I did not think she was great.

    Any additional comments?

I am not a big romance novel reader so I cannot critique the story or author all that much other than to say that I was not impressed with the writing style. It sounded like a high schooler trying to impress her english teacher with too many big words. I know the girl in the book is suppose to be smart, but no one speaks like that, so it was not very believable. I'm not big on the audio porn but some of it was erotic and fun to listen to but not nearly as risque as it was built up to be. Some parts were a little drug out but not too bad. Overall I wanted to listen all the way to the end and I enjoyed it. I'm curious about the other books but I am not aching to listen to them or anything.

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

I have listen to this series for years. The characters voices in my ears almost every day. It was incredibly painful to loose some of my favorite characters ( I wont give away who, but one I loved and cried so hard at the death of) Over all though, I was satisfied with the ending. It had some good surprises and wrapped up just about everything. It was well worth all the time put into it. I plan to listen through all of them for a third time one day. I love this series by Robert Jordan and I love how Sanderson did the last three books justice. Well done.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

I'll be honest, I thought this one was going to be sub par but it was a great book that left me wanting more. It didn't take away from the Mistborn series like I though it would. It did well standing alone. I would read it again and highly recommend it.

Really, can Sanderson do any wrong? lol ...I really liked this young adult book. It is such a different concept, as is with so many of Sanderson's books. I would listen to it again and would love for my kids to read or listen to it when they are older. I very much enjoyed it!

I really did like the original SOT series (although I think Goodkind totally ripped of Robert Jordan's WOT!!!!) The writing is lacking in my opinion. He acts like his audience is brain dead by stating the obvious and constantly repeating himself. But overall a good story and love the characters. ....But it should have stopped there!!! He his now just hacking at the story and wont just let it be. Wright something else already! Readers always want more but 12 books is enough! (Or however many the series had)... I am pained to have to listen to this book and the only motivation for going on is because I paid for it!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would. I read this when I was about 11. It is for older children but even as an adult I enjoyed listening to it again. I had several brothers and sisters so I could very much relate to this book.

What did you like best about this story?

It is a very sweet story and one that encouraged me to be good as a child.
