After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

I have awaited each new Dresden book with much impatience and then I am thrilled with each new chapter. Then of course I come to the last page and am filled with grief and remorse I did not make it last longer. Butcher has made Dresden alive to me, all his little foibles and strengths are all upon a page, but he is real in this context. I was frustrated with some of the scenes, but then if all had been perfect or gone as I had wished it would not have been as entertaining. Dresden fans will be pleased with this new offering. If you are new to Dresden files, start at Storm Front. Not saying this book cannot stand on its own, but would be much more clear if you were familar with the proceeding books. I find I am envious of someone just coming on the Dresden scene, so many books await you! If you should now of another series as entertaining, I would love to hear of it! Enjoy fellow readers, this book is worth the credit and more. I will wait impatiently for the next such.
Also I recomend these other authors, just not quite as highly as Jim Butcher
Kevin Hearne, Molly Harper, Kim Harrison, Patricia Briggs, Larry Correia and so many others.
