"FINALLY Rachel Gibson on Audible!!!"
I love Rachel Gibson books and was thrilled to finally find a couple on Audible. This book is everything I enjoy in chick lit: funny, smart, good character development and not overly cheesey (just enough to keep it light).
There is a little more to this book than just boy meets girl (again) but also how life goes on after first loves fail. As soon as the book ended, I wanted to start it over and listen again! Great reader too!!!
"Interesting...but long"
A suspenseful book set in the Black Hills...predictable but the setting of a wild life refuge makes it interesting and even a little educational. Worth the read even though it is a little long. I'd recommend the abridged version.
"SEP does it again!!! LISTEN TO THIS BOOK :-)"
I am a huge SEP fan and looked forward to this book from the time I knew it was forthcoming and it definately does not disappoint. Great character development and a few twists and turns along the way so you hope you know the outcome but there are some surprises. Nice to revisit some old SEP characters too - April Robillard Patriot & Jack Patriot!! I love all SEP books and dare I say...this might be my favorite....
"Not Up to Par for this Author"
I am a huge fane of Sophie Kinsella/Marian Keyes/Madeline Wickham and this just didn't do it for me. Out of the 18 hours of audio, I think only 4 or 5 were enjoyable. At the end it came together and there were some moments of humor and memorable quotes, but this was really disappointing. I gave it three stars because of the last few hours that were what I am accustome to with this author. Skip this and listen to Remember me or any Susan Elizabeth Phillips or Susn Mallery book.
"Another SEP Winner"
This is an old book that SEP updated and re-released. It is easy to "read", funny at times, sad, sexy and traditional SEP - a great read. Unlike other authors that I've read that have rereleased older books, SEP does this one in a way that makes it seem like she wrote it recently (though I liked the old version too). If you like SEP, you can't go wrong.
PS Good choice for the narrator. I was curious who could possibly narrate after the fabulous Kate Fleming / Anna Fields. Julia Gibson does a nice job. I've enjoyed her work with Catherine Anderson as well.
"The Perfect Life Ain't So Perfect"
I really enjoyed this book. A moving story of how a Mom and her two daughters deal with their own personal issues as well as a family crisis. All three face what measures success and how other people's opinions truly shape our lives. This book makes one think about what is and isn't important in their life and the things we thought were, might not really be. Real life gone wrong and somehow made right again in a surprising way. You won't be disappointed!
"Fun and Mysterious!"
You can't go wrong with Carly. Her books always deliver humor, warmth and of course a love story. I appreciate the unusual challenges her characters deal with.
As with Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Susan Mallery, you just can't lose here!
"Old,dated and predictable"
I think this was written in the 70's and it shows. A home for unwed mothers and unable to take the Bar exam due to an illegitimate child?? Had it's own charm in a round about way. I kept thinking of the movies from the 60's and 70's with all the cheese. Not the worst book I've ever read, but no upside until the very end. The end could have been the middle of the book and made a bunch of good stuff at the end.
"Sooo Hot!!!!"
I love these characters in this book. Worlds apart and so different but you can relate to all of them. This book is written so that you feel you really know these characters and know exactly what all of their surroundings look like without being too bogged down in too much detail. This book could have gone on another few hours and I would have gladly kept listening. Very funny!
"Sweet, sexy and fun"
This is one of the sweetest books I've ever read. The characters are really deep and troubled and you can't wait to get to the end of the book to see how it all works itself out. Funny, witty, sexy, sarcastic and sweet.
If you like the SEP books, this is a winner. If you've never read one, this will hook you.
