I really like the story, but I did not care for the narrator. I also did not like the sound effects in between chapters. This is why I only gave it 3 stars.

No one ever came to claim him, and he has only a few, fragmented memories of his parents. Now, as an adult, Mike is finally living the life he had always wanted  —  he’s happily married to Annabel, the woman of his dreams; they have a precocious eight-year-old daughter, Kat.

This one sure got me. I'm usually pretty good at figuring mysteries out,or at least coming close. I had no clue on this one. It would make a good movie!

On a rainy November day, police detectives Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein are summoned to a mysterious traffic accident: a woman has fallen from a pedestrian bridge onto a car driving underneath. According to a witness, the woman may have been pushed. The investigation leads Pia and Oliver to a small village, and the home of the victim, Rita Cramer. On a September evening eleven years earlier, two seventeen-year-old girls vanished from the village without a trace.

You think it's over, and the plot just thickens more. Everybody is guilty in this story! I'm pretty good at figuring things out. I did, but then the twists and turns entered. A must to add to one's listening library.

Tia and Mike Baye never imagined they'd become the type of overprotective parents who spy on their kids. But their 16-year-old son, Adam, has been unusually distant lately, and after the suicide of his classmate, Spencer Hill they can't help but worry. They install a sophisticated spy program on Adam's computer, and within days they are jolted by a message from an unknown correspondent addressed to their son: "Just stay quiet and all safe."

Meanwhile, Betsy Hill is struck by a photo that appears to have been taken on the night of her son's death...and he wasn't alone.

Wow, it was not what I thought it was going to be. I kept wondering how is all this going to connect? And then when it did. Wow!

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Suzanne says: "The scare is in the human nature under stress."
    "Absolutely loved it!"
    Overall

As a Stephen King Fan, it has replaced The Stand as his best work. I couldn't wait for the ending, but also did not want it to end. The narrator was excellent...there were so many characters of all ages, accents, and both sexes. I will definitely look for Raul Esparaza as a narrator on future books, especially if it is one of Stephen King's!
