A serial killer is stalking Virginia’s young lovers, taking their lives and taunting police with a single clue: a jack of hearts. For two years, the meaning of this card has eluded FBI investigators. But as Scarpetta begins searching the victims’ remains for microscopic clues, she begins to suspect that someone in the FBI knows more about the murderer.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The book kind of dragged on and on.

If you’ve listened to books by Patricia Cornwell before, how does this one compare?

This book was not as interesting or exciting as previous books by Patricia Cornwell.

Did C. J. Critt do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I think the only saving grace of this book was C.J. Critt. She always does a great job. She does differentiate the characters well. I also enjoy her narrations in the Stephanie Plum books.

Did All That Remains inspire you to do anything?

Not really. I'll look at other reviews before purchasing.

    Any additional comments?

This was a sale book at $4.95...I'm wondering if it was on sale because it didn't do too well at the regular price.

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

Would you listen to War and Remembrance again? Why?

We started listening to this book a couple of weeks ago and became totally enthralled with it. We went back and downloaded the first series "Winds of War", which is the prequel to this one, from Netflix. It was a great idea to see the first one because it brought the characters to life for us so we could get a visual of them.

What did you like best about this story?

Love novels that follow families lives. Also found this to be so accurate in depicting WWII.

Have you listened to any of Kevin Pariseau’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

We haven't listened to any of Kevin Pariseau's other performances...he's a great narrator.

Who was the most memorable character of War and Remembrance and why?

Obviously it's Pug Henry. The character is completely believable.

    Any additional comments?

It's going to be a long listen, one that we will enjoy over the next couple of months.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. This was different than Grisham's usual types of books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Testament?

When Nate finally understood his purpose

Have you listened to any of Frank Muller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Frank Muller is an excellent narrator.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Like no other suspense author in his genre, Follett reinvents the thriller with each new storyline. But nothing matches the intricate, knife-edge drama of Whiteout.

The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Litigators to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version...but I consider the audio edition fantastic, loved it.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I was constantly worrying about the characters in the book. Even when I wasn't listening, I thought about the book.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When the hero found the "Nasty Teeth" I knew everything was going to be OK.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely

    Any additional comments?

Love John Grisham - I know I'll always enjoy his books!

The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

What did you like best about Beautiful Ruins? What did you like least?

It kept my interest. I liked the character development. This book is really many stories linked together.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jess Walter? Why or why not?

I've never heard of this writer before this book. I probably would try another book; however, it really has to do with the story and whether or not it sounds like something I would enjoy.

What does Edoardo Ballerini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    His narration is good.

Could you see Beautiful Ruins being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes....it would be a movie I would look forward to seeing.
