Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

    Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would, and will, recommend this book, both audio and written to my friends. It is engaging at the same time as being intellectual. There is enough thoughtful details that require intelligence but its not weighty. A great mother/daughter story and honestly, at the end, while there's not direct resolution you feel like you know the characters well enough to assume what they will do.

What did you like best about this story?

Everything. It kept you going and engaged, wanting to listen to more.

Have you listened to any of Kathleen Wilhoite’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but this was a great performance!

    Any additional comments?

This is the first review I've written of a book and was bummed to find that this is the author's only book. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for the next one!
